The Smash Bros DLC tryouts had nearly come to a close, with Terry Bogard coming out as the next fighter this time around, and Sans managing to sneak his way in due to a technicality. However, a blazing fighter entered the arena, appearing to be late entry and having overslept. Instead of turning him away due to his tardiness, one of the judges steps forward and decides to give him a chance, exclaiming, "Show me your moves!" The challenger nodded, and decided to put everything into this, transforming into his most powerful form before taking his battle stance to earn his way into Smash.

In the blue corner, we have Captain Falco from F-Zero, and in the red corner, we have Blazike from Pokemon.



-This is a fight to the death or incapacitation. No holds barred.
-Neither character are aware of each other beforehand, and there is no prep time.

-Neither character are allowed any outside help.

-This battle takes place on the Big Battlefield from SSBU, giving Captain Falcon a slight field advantage.

-Captain Falcon is in his Super Smash Bros form, and Blaziken has Mega-Evolved for this fight.

-Speed was equalized.

In the games, about 6 'turns' or the length of 6 attacks quadruples Blaziken's speed, linearly boosting up from there. In the anime, you have Paul's Ninjask who was able to blitz Gliscor with speed boost fairly quickly, though it had an initial speed advantage, and Jessie's Yanmega gained a significant speed boost not long after being sent out as shown here. This can be sped up more with moves like Agility, which directly amps the Pokemon's speed, and detect which acts as a sort of precognition to let Blaziken dodge incoming moves.

Okay, if you want actual reasons:

• Falcon will have to put down Blaziken immediately or he'll blitz, which is unlikely.
• Blaziken has the range advantage.
• Far more versatility in his moves, and can boost his stats is absolutely needed to.
• Certain he resists Fire Manipulation via being a fire type himself.

That's true, but Blaziken definitely has the edge in H2H and CQC I believe, with far more variety he's likely to use. All whist getting faster.

Even a 2x advantage in speed means that Mega Blaziken would probably win more times than not. The fact that the advantage is ever-increasing, at a fairly fast rate, puts this strongly in M. Blaziken's favour.

Also, speed amps are banned in speed unequal if it makes the slower character blitz. Since Cap is MFTL+... yeah.
