The shroobs came from a desolate planet in outer space. They're aliens. They should be able to survive in outer space.

Is there proof that they can breathe in outer space? Cause they can just use a spaceship to go to the mushroom kingdom.

Their planet was dying, meaning they wouldn't have protection from outer space. It's strongly implied that they can survive in space. Furthermore, the fact that the entire mario galaxy cast were casually in outer space, along with characters in previous mario games, also implies that space suffocation doesn't happen in the mario games. It's safe to assume they can breathe in outer space unless there's something that contradicts that that I'm missing.

@Theglassman is arguing that Broly can beat Elder Princess Shroob by destroying the planet she's on, even though it's highly unlikely she is affected by the vacuum of space imo, not factoring in her type 8

She lived on a planet that was mentioned to be dying. That and Mario characters haven't been shown to need oxygen in general.

Well, if we're going by her whole race, the spaceships that Shroobs travel in literally have the top bit cut off. They travel through outer space with no protection from outer space and therefore no oxygen. Shroobs in general don't need oxygen, so I suppose that argument can be made.

I thought Saiyans couldn't survive in space anyway?

If the tops are cut off, then she probably scales off to them, so it should be a safe assumption. Non-canon has them surviving in space quite often, its just canon that doesn't.
