The Helmet can be countered with ranged attacks. Johnny has plenty of that.

Again, the context of Gumball losing the hat was that he was undone by his own attack and only because Darwin was willing to get hit first. If Jonny just shot at Gumball, he would miss or some random bird would intervene.
