All Purpose Dragon Ball Thread

Can someone please tell me why is this in his weakness
Updating, based on this
Weakness: Roshi needs oxygen to breathe, and he cannot fly, even getting nauseous and sick when attempting to. Due to his age, it is difficult for him to sustain his MAX Power form, and his strongest attack requires a long recharge time, leaving him drained after using it once. He is also depicted as very lecherous toward attractive women, which makes him easily distracted by them.

What are you guys's personal "mainline continuity"?
The Original Manga, the “Goodbye Dragon World,” redraw, (as well as further corrections of the Manga in subsequent releases), Dragon Ball Minus, Jaco the Patrolman, and Yo! Son Goku and Friends. Also, maybe Sachie-Chan.

Super’s two “main continuities” for me are the Super Manga, Resurrection F Promo Manga made by Toyo, and the DBS: Broly film.

DBS Anime (as well as allocated flashbacks to older material), DBS: Broly, DBS: Superhero, and History of Trunks Special for the anime continuity.

That’s it, really.

Missing was Dragon Ball Daima, which is a direct continuation of the original DB manga

That’s something that doesn’t exist in the main continuity, but shares the “same worldview” and thus “shares details and secrets” of the Dragon World. Basically, an alt continuity that is usable for scaling and information for the main continuity. Not the main continuity itself.

I think you're wrong about that, dragon ball daima is an original work by Akira toriyama, daima is not just a simple spin-off, it comes after the original manga and is part of the main timeline of the franchise. Well, could you show where it's mentioned as an alternative version? There's no mention of it by anyone or in the work itself.

Yes, but so are Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F'; the former is only implicitly in-continuity with the Super manga, and the latter is in-continuity with the manga only; the Super TV anime completely rewrites the stories of the two films, introducing a newly original story.

Nekomajin and Dr. Mashirito and Abale-chan are spin-offs of Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump, respectively, but are both similarly original stories by Toriyama, but they explicitly take place within parallel worlds completely disconnected from the continuity of the original series.
it comes after the original manga and is part of the main timeline of the franchise.
The interview confirming Daima as a "story" (物語; i.e., a standalone plot) directly connected to and taking place after the Majin Buu Saga of the original series also acknowledges Dragon Ball as having various "storylines" (ストーリー; i.e., an overarching narrative), while going out of its way to avoid explicitly confirming whether or not the series is connected to Super, despite acknowledging the debates amongst fans.

For Dbz kai and the Dbs anime, is the manga used for OG Dragon Ball or the anime?
I believe it should be the manga? Kai was written to be a more faithful to it so it would naturally follow that everything pre-Raditz is meant to be from the manga version of events.

Toriyama never stated that the Battle of Gods (2013 movie) is manga exclusive, just that it follows his manga....
The BOG movie was the continuation of both DBZ Anime and the manga.

BOG manga version follows the DBZ manga, DBS BOG animated version follows DBZ Kai

No, he said he wrote Battle of Gods with the idea of a continuation of the original series in mind.
Yeah, but he's not saying that it's only a manga exclusive continuation.

I feel like DB fans sometimes like to overcomplicate and extrapolate the words of official statements.

Example: I can say I wrote certain animated series or threatical film with my manga in mind, but that doesn't really mean anything on it's own...
Let's say the manga and anime that lead to said animated/movie series are fundamentally different between each other...,(like the DBZ Anime and DBZ manga).
I can say I wrote it with my manga/original story in mind, but that's not dictating absolute exclusivity. Moreso when the official movie Page and other sources say the movie was also part of the DBZ TV Animation.

Heck, even Toriyama himself agreed with Nakatsuru, saying GT (an anime exclusive series) was the "future" of the Battle of Gods movie.

it is. notes/explanations/references all go at the end of the justification

Is it written? Only thing I could find is the references page saying this, "put the following code where you want them to appear" which is the opposite, ya know.

Also just looks better next to the actual AP value than next to, in this page's case, Tao killing Bora

Didn't notice that wording tbh, so I'll concede on that
i just follow the example because imo it looks best and when you have a verse of profiles that do one thing it looks off when one or two are formatted differently

Source formatting is a pain in the ass when editing...
That's why I always use the other type.

There are many profiles you can only edit through source, and that's horrible.

There needs to be a physical formatting in ALL the profiles of this wiki
