All Purpose Dragon Ball Thread

So are you guys going to make a Rymus profile?
We have not nearly enough knowledge on Rymus to actually make a profile IMO. All we know is a very significant creation feat which is vague and can be interpreted multiple ways.

This creation feat doesn't actually give him an AP value btw as creation isn't assumed to equate to attack power unless there is ample reason to suggest otherwise.. So he would have an unknown AP, speed, durability, stamina, and intelligence, with one actually known ability.

One more thing. When we see the flash back, Rymus has created wayyy more than 18 universes.

So I am assuming Zeno destroyed all of them until only 13 are remaining.

What are Sachie-Chan and Jiya?
Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, Jiya, and Sachie-chan GOOD!! are part of the "Galactic Patrol series", a collaborative narrative expanding the world of the past by primarily establishing "background information" for the Galactic Patrol through short stories taking place before the beginning of the Dragon Ball manga.

Jaco the Galactic Patrolman, which is the furthest chronologically, is the most significant of the three,—introducing the character of Jaco, Tights, and (physically) the Galactic King; linking directly with and including the Dragon Ball Minus: Departure of the Fated Child story, which established the current iteration of Bardock and the world of Planet Vegeta; and directly linked with the original manga,—but Jiya establishes the character of the Galactic King and the asteroid threatening Earth, which he is confirmed to have destroyed in Dragon Ball Super (albeit, only in the anime), and the Galactic Patrol's idea of Earth being in its developmental stage, which is referenced in Jaco and in Super, is derived from a false report made by Steth, the main antagonist of Jiya; and Sachie-chan GOOD!! introduces the species from which the Galactic King originates and the suits of armor characters like Jiya, Steth, and various Patrolman appearing in Jaco and Super are equipped with.

Admittedly, Jaco the Galactic Patrolman is effectively a soft reboot of the "Galactic Patrol series", with the modern series only ever referencing the concepts introduced in the former two stories, rather than any of their specific characters or plots, but nothing suggests they were ever decanonized.
And do they have any relation to indexing abilities or feats/scaling/cosmology here or nah?
Jiya confirms the number of stars in the Milky Way galaxy,—approx. 200 billion,—and Sachie-chan GOOD!! establishes Japan did once exist in the Dragon World. In the grand scheme of the DB World, though, they are self-contained stories taking place decades prior to the original manga.

Given they were intended to be short stories set in the Dragon Ball canon with an interconnected narrative through the Galactic Patrol, with Jaco the Galactic Patrolman indisputably being canonical, I see no issue with including the two in the blog—and even creating pages for Jiya, Yukio, Steth-Vamp, and Sachie.

At worst, they are soft canon, which I am 99% certain is a synonym for secondary canon.

Wdym? I don't think that there being a bunch of dots really implies that those are supposed to be individual universes. That's just supposed to be a cool space shot.

Also wdym 13. There were 18 originally then Zeno destroyed 6 and left the 12 we know afterwards.

Also the ironic thing is that even if this translated into AP value, it wouldn't even be high-universal.

Honestly, I would have been completely opposed to the idea of even pitching in on the Ki Manipulation page, but now that I'm back on Vyvanse after a decade, I think I could start gathering up scans and rewriting the entire thing. That, and the Saiyan Physiology page I dropped a year or two ago.

The Super Exciting Guides are genuinely such a fun read.

Individually, the tidbits of worldbuilding and information are, for lack of a better term, less than significant in the grand scheme of things, but when a number of tidbits are all interpreted together, I get so ******* ecstatic; I can't even read Japanese, and I'm having the time of my week sifting through these pages.

Like, y'know the concepts of genki, yūki, and shōki—the three components of Ki? In the Story Volume, Toriyama initially introduced the concepts through an interview, and the Character Volume later expanded upon the concepts in-depth; Ki is the entirety of one's "life energy" (生命のエネルギー seimei no enerugī) and one's "mental strength" (精神力 seishinryoku), which itself is made up of "vitality" (元気 genki), "life force" (第気 daiki), and "right-mindedness" (正気 shōki). I bring up the mechanics of Ki because, whether intentionally or not: (1) the energy that the Androids utilize (and Cell absorbs) is similarly described as "life energy"—with the word seimei referring to "life" in the biological sense; e.g., "living organisms",—without ever referencing the concept of "mental strength", which is particularly interesting given the Androids explicitly do not possess any Ki; and (2) in the Story Volume, the training Goku and Gohan performed together in the Room of Spirit and Time is revealed to primarily consist of meditation, increasing the size and control of their Ki by sharpening their minds, which pairs hand in hand with the idea of "mental strength".

I am always now beginning to wonder if God Ki cannot be sensed because gods are fundamentally different from mortals, with their vitality, life force, and mind themselves being transcendent in nature, but I do not have nearly enough evidence to substantiate such an interpretation.

I could probably rework a bunch of profiles, y'know what? Androids, Dabura, maybe even the Gods.
I like the idea, but I'd probably hate the work.

Like, why do Androids 19 and 20 not have Varies ratings? Their entire gimmick is using the energy of others to modify their own power.
Why are Shin and Dabura's P&A without justifications?
Why is Kibito Kai a key for Shin?
Why even bother "writing" up a profile for DBS Manga Future Trunks if the page is going to look like that?
Again, why does the Grand Priest, a tertiary "supporting" cast member, need a page?
A "Miscellaneous" section? Really?
I forgot I made those bullshit revisions to the Neko Majin pages.
If it were up to me, there'd be four pages: Dragon Ball, for the World of Dragon Ball, which is the main canon (i.e., original manga, Super manga, Kakarot, etc.); Dragon Ball (TV Anime); Dragon Ball (Expanded Universe), for the "miscellaneous" spin-offs like Kai and the Super anime, Neko Majin, and Dragonball Evolution; and Dragon Ball (Games).

Why Null why????

Eh, it deserves a spot, too.
  1. A Super Saiyan's illuminates the Dark Planet, which is literally "enveloped in darkness".
  2. A Super Saiyan's aura yields light energy.
  3. In supplementary material, "beam of Ki" is typically written using 光線 (kōsen), which is derived from "light" and "beam" and typically means "ray of light".
    • Alternatively, "torrent" (奔流 honryū) and "wave" (波 ha; e.g., kikōha or "Ki manipulation wave") are used, at times.
  4. Ki is naturally immaterial, like light, and is then actively materialized during projection.
  5. Ki can be actively converted into the form of light energy; i.e., Solar Flare.
Ki is 100% a form of light and not a form of plasma.
Anyway, Character Volume describes Zarbon as an "alien of the same transformation-type as Frieza"/フリーザと同じ変身型ぶんの宇宙人.
Do you think that could be interpreted as their transformations are identical in nature, thus meaning Zarbon's true form also yields a two-fold increase, at minimum?

Couldn’t you also say the ssj forms are the same type tho as well? I think it just means he’s a physically transforming alien, which seems to be quite the rarity

Nah, Zarbon’s base PL is 23,000 and his transformed state's PL is still under 30,000, below Kaioken x4 Goku's (32,000).

Edit: Vegeta also shouldn't have been so shocked by Second Form Frieza's power jump if it was the same as Zarbon's.

No, Saiyans are not Transforming-type aliens. Yes, they can transform, but Great Ape is a "unique ability" of the Saiyans triggered by Blutz Waves and not a Transforming Ability, and Super Saiyan is a unique physical mutation triggered by S-Cells; Transforming-type aliens are special, and they can transform "at will"—i.e., by the natural ability to control their anatomy, rather than, for example, through radiation from the moon or specially designed cells being activated.

Isn't Freeza's case even more special? As, iirc, his "forms" are purely him restraining himself bellow his base/"Final" form?

So far, for the Saiyans, I can infer:
  • Superhuman Physical Characteristics (The "warrior race of the universe", the body of a Saiyan is naturally tough and specialized for the purpose of engaging in combat. The Saiyans are adapted to Planet Vegeta's gravity, which increases the effectiveness of training and muscular development, thus naturally strengthening their bodies)
  • Basic Ki Manipulation (All Saiyans are born gifted in combat, and the likes of a 3-year-old Pan, a 5-year-old Vegeta, a 7-year-old Goten, and a 12-year-old Goku display basic-level aptitude in Ki Control; in fact, Goku and Goten copy the Kamehameha without proper training)
  • Martial Arts (See above)
  • Acrobatics (See above)
  • Enhanced Vision, Smell, Touch, and Awareness (See above. Goku displays animal-like olfactory senses, keen eyesight—even before training under Roshi, and superhuman tactile senses against Yakon)
  • Limited Longevity (Saiyans and Earthling have similar lifespans, but Saiyans experience lengthier adolescence stages and then, upon reaching their physical peak, retain their youth until their eighties)
  • Transformation (Great Ape, by absorbing Blutz Waves; Super Saiyan, by activating a sufficient amount of S-Cells; Super Saiyan God, by receiving the "light" of five other righteous Saiyans)
  • Acceleration Development (Training, Battle; Saiyans possess "bottomless combat strength", and their abilities continuously improve during combat; and, the stronger the opponent, the more significantly and rapidly Saiyans grow)
  • Empowerment (By recovering from the verge of death, Saiyans experience significant increases in power)
  • Regeneration (Low; Within half an hour, assisted by the Medical Machine, Vegeta fully recovered after being beaten to near-death by Zarbon, even though Appule approximated he could have only regained consciousness after another half an hour; via his natural "recuperative powers")
  • Rage Power (Anger further unleashes the hidden powers of the Saiyans, temporarily increasing their strength, and, if significant enough, can even awaken the Super Saiyan)
  • Technique Mimicry (Being natural geniuses, Saiyans like Goku and Vegeta can instantly copy various martial arts techniques like the Kamehameha, the Afterimage Technique, Solar Flare, Destructo Disc, and even Ki Sense)
  • Absorption (Energy; Saiyans absorb Blutz Wave radiation through their tails)
  • Bodily Weaponry (Conventional; Via tail)
  • Resistance to Disease Manipulation (The Extinction Bomb's supervirus, capable of extinguishing entire populations exclusively targeted at their race, is ineffective against Saiyans).
I've yet to actually go through the manga again, though. I've just been gathering up databook scans so far.
