I have always been a fan. When I watched it for the very first time - idk what language it was - i didnt understand a single world but i enjoyed the hell out of it.
Them 80s shonen were just built different.
Ignoring visuals for a second and maybe you guys wont believe me ... But when it comes to the very core of martial arts and mindest, Dragonball is one of most realistic shit ive ever read/seen.
I mean if we stick to perfectly displayed visuals like good posture when it comes to kicks - yeah, even tho Goku displayed a lot of stuff it got downplayed since it wasnt displayed 1:1 - then hes a good fighter, with the right style (aiming for your head, working up the body with specialization in body shots) and his style wont get nerved like many other styles who rely on athlecism (speed) since thats how such styles work in real life.
Goku would win some and lose some. Honestly ... what Goku displayed against Broly, he shouldnt have any problems against osoto gari, hip throws, double legs and pretty much all kind of takedowns. But DB is just built different and the main reasons why we wont see it every single second:
a) Grappling is all about leverages and angles and flying hard counters that b) throwing fists is just more yummy. But I cant wank Gokus visuals to such a level since he hasnt displayed every single thing 1:1 perfectly.
If we stick to the story aka not ignoring context? All the statements he scales above, KI skills > traditional martial arts etc. etc. ... hes a fuking god.
Never seen the point in sticking solely to visuals. Its mostly guys from a specific sport which is already full of brain deads and the same fan base cant appreciate the hardest and best part of the sweet science of fighting: defence.
Anyway ... I dont have a problem with Goku not being the best H2H fighter since thats Kenshiro for me, or the best traditional guy (which goes to 2-3 grappling books that no one reads) ... but ive seen guys telling me that he would lose to fuking real world guys ... like what the hell.
Or he sucks cuz he didnt beat them via martial arts - they ignor how unfair DBs powersystem is, he doesnt have any martial art durbaility hax etc. like what the *** can traditional martial arts do against a monster like Broly who ***** on Saitamas growth and Garous adapting skills? Shit ... no novel needed.
When Goku showed Broly what Judo is, Broly responded with "Wackanda Judo!"
When Goku used God bind, he was like "What is dis, lemme copy it"

In super we know that the z fighters, including piccolo who he absorbed is resistant to that kind of thing though
The again, ofcourse someone like shibai would be able to do much more with omnipotence, but he just really lacks feats now
But he is an utterly broken character tbh, just merely going off of what people with his remains can do

I wonder how'd Shibai's damage transferal work against someone like Buu.
If he tried to slice Shibai in 2, then he'd be sliced apart before attacking... but due to his weird physiology, Buu would not die and still throw up the attack. Then I guess the attack'd connect and nothing else will happen?

Most likely won't kill him, but would inconvenience him, he'd just regrow back
I'd assume he'd probably be shocked the first time it happens such that he may not complete the attack, but subsequent times he'd just continue with it as he knows he won't die
