All Purpose Dragon Ball Thread

I think Time Power from Agios' profile is outdated. Shouldn't the underlined part warrant at least a likely 6 or 7 layers due to affecting Dogi Dogi with her Time Power (with Dogi Dogi currently having at 6 layers)? Also, the part between [] seems to be wrong, at least based on the explanation of the pages of the layers (since Dogi Dogi has 1 layer of Time Power more than Doki Doki, meaning their Time Power shall not be treated as equal)
The justification on Aios's page is outdated yeah. I'll fix that later

og DB is fun as hell man y'all tripping

goku's raid on the red ribbon army is peak
Only dragon ball fans call the series where the world was set up mid. Most don't even read it lol. Only GT slander will be tolerated. Shit is garbo.

Eh to each their own. I just prefer the humor in Z versus the more slapstick of the OG
Remember, dragon ball at its core was a gag manga. But even outside of those moments, OG still has a lot going on for themes, symbolism, character arcs and development. Each of them usually intertwine with each other. Calling it mid is just weird imo.

Why don't we have a Gomah profile? I'm curious!

Make one for Rymus just to flex

I remember at that time I thought Dragon Ball Absalon was canon because I was a kid who didn't know how big the internet was.
i remember when i watched the dragon ball movies and thought they were part of the story, no, i remember when i confused goku with gohan and called gohan to goku has a kid.
yeah, i thought kid goku was gohan...because they looked a like

Hey, isn't it a little funny that even though levels, speed, and haxes increase, you still get beaten just because you have better haxes?

It's literally stated that buu's power was reduced by gaining a heart. And this is more significant than most people give it credit for. This means that any absorption buu gained was only trying to catch back up to his previous power. Even when buu split, and evil buu absorbed fat buu, that heart is still a factor. Gotenks, Gohan are both still weaker than evil incarnate buu. It gets even more interesting when you factor in that kid buu had no reason to absorb anyone, unless he was outmatched. South kaioshin was fighting along side the GSK in the fight against moro, yet lost to kid buu. Even if you say he was SOMEHOW caught off guard, kid buu still fought without actually dying, and we can definitely assume in good faith there was an initial confrontation, not just absorption GG. Not saying kid buu is on par with moro tier fighters, but he's definitely the strongest buu. Most "dangerous" here definitely means the strongest. Every buu is dangerous in their own right, they are all a threat to the planet, humanity, and the universe. If kid buu was the weakest version, he would not be the most troublesome. Mind you, his power was STILL growing until the south kaioshin faded away, or died. There is not a single in universe argument for super buu being stronger. And don't even bring up goku being afraid of super buu. We see that he's powerful enough to end kid buu at full power super saiyan three. Not to mention even that has nuance that not many people even think about for why this is even the case.

Shonen Jump 50th anniversary manga edition agrees!

魔人ブウ(純粋悪)
界王神すら恐れる最強の魔人。地球を破壊し悟空たちを追い詰めるが、元気玉に散る。

Majin Buu (Pure Evil)
The strongest Majin, feared even by the Kaioshin.
He destroys the Earth and drives Goku and the others into a corner, but is scattered by the Genki Dama.

ViZ media also did plethora of mistranslation, Toriyama never said that Buutenks is the strongest Dijin, with past included, the raws are only valid for the present/future, meaning the manga never establish either Buutenks/Buhan > Kid Buu:

Thank you, just more undeniable proof. The kid buu meta will take over soon enough.

i honestly hate that because it means that...Goku got stronger (somehow?)and surpassed Gohan...and Gohan unlocked his potential for nothing?basically it makes all the Gohan unlocking his potential even more pointless and stupid

No one frankly cares if you find it incredible or unbelievable. Canon > your headcanon.
Hades you didn't even read what i wrote, i basically said that they made the unlocked potential of Gohan useless by revealing that Goku, gained more power to defeat the next Buu

I think that matches as well Toriyama's view, Gohan was stronger only when he fought, but Goku is a Saiyan and the real protagonist for the final battle.

However Pure Buu only was serious against the Genki-Dama, so it's hard to say how much Goku is strong. But:

In Dragon Ball super, Vegeta just became stronger mid-fight in very short timeframes, if against someone stronger.
Kid Buu was playing with Goku, that might allowed him, to catch up.

Another misconception is that fans someone thinks Toriyama ever stated that Gohan should be stronger, but the only words that came out from Toriyama mouth is that, Goku is always the strongest.

Toriyama also stated that in a manga, the new enemies must always be stronger than the previous otherwise the reader won't be satisfied, if Kid Buu was weaker, how would a reader be satisfied?

As matter of fact, Toriyama also stated that both side during the Majin buu arc, were keeping transforming to became stronger and stronger. If Buu transformed in Pure buu at last, how can he be weaker if both side keep get stronger?

This fully matches Toriyama's logic, remember he said new enemies must always be stronger.

SEG which also recaps all the event up to Pure Buu from, in chronological order, super buu, gotenks, buhan, vegetto, lastly stated that the Buu Goku was fighting was a powered up version of Buu!

So Goku was fighting against something stronger than Buff Buu which is even way stronger than Super Bu! That's more impressive than anything Gohan did.

Hence he can't be weaker!

It's hard to say, how much strong is Goku, he's definitely stronger than Gohan, however there are lot of information that say even just manga-wise, Pure Buu is the strongest.

This, even ignoring, like dozen of anime related sources that are still official material which blatantly confirm all of this on a whole higher degree, they just amplify this a lot, as usually anime does.

The authors of Dragon Ball KAI stated they wanted to be absolutely faithful to the dialogue of the manga, but they still wanted to keep all the dialogues that put Pure Buu above every other Buu.

Hey don't let me lump in the same category as Alexander, damn it. I don't let my love for the blue rodent override my ability to be objective and fair when it comes to something I also love like Dragon Ball

Edit: also, I don't see the problem with Goku surpassing Gohan, in all honesty. I mean from a narrative standpoint, Gohan's always had the potential to be stronger than Goku but due to his peace loving and gentle nature he doesn't like fighting.

Man, Gohan can't have a win (legitimate and without a far-fetched and ridiculous power up) after Cell, right?

thats why Gohan is pure good while Goku isn't
