It was allowed because Protege's tier was Varies without any base. And because Protege's only ability was copying the opponent's stats and abilities up to a 1-A level.
This got around the reasons for Ajimu's matchban - the fact that her stats and abilities are incredibly unreliable.
The new Protege profile doesn't get around these issues, so it can't get around the matchban.

Varies 1-a vs Unkown 1-a. Being tier unknown is totaly unreliable, Base on speed their equal
So if ajimu decide to throw any attack she simply losses, beside if this was bloodlust protege
would activate his 5-A ability and ajimu would shot everything at him, everything at him he would automaticaly mimic it.
