About Ness's Fate Manipulate

Why does Ness have fate manipulation? His profile specifically states that he's protected by the TOTU. This would only give TOTU fate manipulation, not Ness as he's basically being protected by someone with the hax. Being protected by someone with fate hax wouldn't give you the ability.

I always found very incompetent how he has such an ability unexplained when in reality it just means he can't die but still be defeated.

I'll respond later.

In a way, his fate hax is similar to that of JoJi Joestar. Which in this case he's being protected by Beyond; aka a higher dimensional entity that's similar to that of Truth of the Universe. In a way, Ness has a bit of connection with TOTU and a reliance so much so that he managed to gain a small portion of its powers. But this is more of being guided by destiny rather than believing yourself to be the main character. An addition to this, Fate hax usually does it tricks against evil and hostile enemies.

It is true that TOTU is the only one with Active Fate Manipulation, but having power bestowal is inherently Passive Fate Manipulation. But then again, Passive Fate Manipulation could be translated as Supernatural Luck.

Oh yeah, I forgot. Within Ness's and the others who are being protected by Truth profile's, we treat this as Passive Fate hax since they are not doing the fate Manipulation of course. I think we should add in "via Truth of the universe" to add in more clarity and to make things less confusing. Like here for instance.

Ergo, it would give you Said abilities. There are other characters who have similar abilities to Ness's and the gang, so you might as well make a CRT on them if you have an issue with it.

Anyway, was that good enough?

Him dying is a tough one to crack. Whether it might be some reliance or Precognition since he views it as a "bad dream".

The only time Ness has actually had some power with the TOTU is when he absorbed Magicant and the Eight Melodies.

Yeah, so he could actually stand an actual chance against Giygas, what's your point? He was chosen from the very beginning of the game and has been guiding him ever since.

I've already pointed out that any death in the game has a random figure talk to you and tells you that either your death was a bad dream or just brings you back. He's protected by truth on his jounrey. As I've said before though he still can be incapped as shown when he and Paula was incapped by zombies as long as Ness stays alive the truth doesn't really care.

He's chosen beforehand and is protected during his journey this even explains him being saved in the last second by people like runaway five when he and jeff are fighting the robot.

Yeah, some aspect of Fate hax could also be some form of Supernatural luck. Honestly them getting incap'd was probably for the best as Ness and Paula were able to contact Jeff to save them and later join their party. I remember there being an unused scenario of which Ness and Jeff actually defeated the robot which caused the robot to completely fill the room with smoke. But yeah, that's also a good example of fate hax.

But usually when dealing with more dangerous enemies and such, they'd win regardless.
