a take on the knight vs the dragon

Well climb can stat amp to 9a, so he charges uses martial arts limit break and slices the dragons head off. His armor is rather durable, the dragons flames are going to hurt but fire spells aren't exactly uncommon things in overlord and with his armor it's liable to take some sustained flames to bring climb down.

The dragons best bet is to fly into the air and simply range spam climb but its lack of intelligence will surely harm it here as climb can outsmart the beast, its liable to try and intimidate/dominate climb via it's sheer size and is very likely to underestimate him. Plus climb can use the cover provided by the trees in central park to keep it low to the ground/dodge it's flames. With rigits ring he should reach supersonic speeds allowing him to close the gap to the dragon rather swiftly.

I can see the dragon taking this but it requires a level of intelligence/skill the dragon doesn't have.
 
would this not be a stomp?

Climb would oneshot as well as blitz, not to mention unable to be harmed once he activates Rigrit's Ring
 
how does he oneshot? climb is above tigers so like >106 kj (based of tigers crushing a skull with its bite which is 1000 psi.), the dragon is equal with a trex which has a much greater bite force than the tiger (12800 to 431000 psi.) so its like >>>106 kj or its charge which would be 87 kj. as for blitz, speed is equalized. and i can restrict the ring if that makes it more fair.

also it gives him a speed increase, as he'd be able to likely tag Zaryusu
 
Without his 9a stat amps this fights going to be tougher on climb, he still has the advatage of fighting an opponent that only has animalistic intellegence. He's also going to be more cautios then the dragon is. The battle will be drawn out but with his armor and more minor stat amp (Limit break mind) I still see him taking it in a long fight.

The flames are nothing new in overlord, the dragon could win if it took to the air and used it's flames to keep climb down but it lacks the stratgy and intellegence to do so. Further climb can use the surrounding trees for cover and lure the dragon to the ground. Made worse by the dragon likely underestimating climb due to his size.

Still voting climb, for stratagy and his armor.
 
Voting for Climb FRA. He also has multiple health potions to hold him over if he takes damage. The roar might allow the dragon to get some damage in, but Climb can heal.
 
Ummm no, they can do quite a bit more, depending on the quality (As climb is the princesses bodyguard his potions should be of a decent quality) they should be able to restore limbs. Quality health potion overlord are equivalent to healing spells. Even the low tier light cure wounds can be used to regrow limbs.
 
His armor will save him from being crushed as it's stronger then he is (Its made of a similar material to that used by eight cs while it doesn't fully scale as it likely has other components in it, its still far stronger then climbs natural dura), without his amps he's going to struggle to break free of it's grasp though.

yes but that was using a "prodigious" amount of mana, thats not a casual thing, i dont think it's something a normal potion could do. plus it was using "over magic" and by a lizardman so i doubt it works the same as normal human magic thats used to make potions.
 
Umm It used a prodigous amount of mana cause saryusu isn't a pure mage and had to use over magic to cast the spell. To be clear all overmagic does it let a person cast magic of a higher teir then they're actually capable of at the expense of the spell costing far more mana.

Cure wounds isn't a lizard men only spell either... Further the spell shouldn't be overly powerful as a comparison the lizard women capable of magic used middle cure wounds a bunch of times before fainting from it.

Zaryusu didn't cast it. His brother, Shasuryu, was the one who cast it. Still, they were only in the mid twenties level-wise, so someone working directly for the princess like Climb would reasonably have access to higher level gear, as evidenced by his Mythril and Orichalcum armor. It's not much of a stretch to imagine that his potions are of high enough quality to allow him to endure enough attacks from the dragon and get a decisive hit in.
 
Can't the dragon literally step on him, which would keep him from attacking as well as leave him open? Pretty sure PD can take this via AP, LS, and ranged attacks (fire and stunning scream).
 
He could just stab it if it attempted that, or better yet use a martial art to deal a devastating blow.
