Soooo you know that update where it was pyro vs heavy? Yeah this is that except decided in a bloody and gruesome battle to the death. Don't even need to equalize Speed, and they start at around 20 meters

Heavy

Pyro

Let's just use the gameplay as a a hypothetical simulation for this.

Since they start 20m apart, Pyro is probably going to spam flares to begin with while Heavy tries to gun him down with the Tomislav. After taking enough burn damage, Heavy will run to cover to eat a food item, where Pyro (undettered from the chip damage taken earlier) will likely continue to attack Heavy, where an almost fully healed (at worst) Heavy will shred him with Sahsa.

My vote goes to Misha.

I think taht Heavy can kill pyro before he closes the gap. He has long range weapons, but they are not as good as his Flamethrowers

Scorch Shot twice, Jetpack to him while flare gunning, and Dragon's Fury him. That's what's gonna happen in game mechanics. Needless to say, don't use word by word game mechanics to justify thd match.

Pyro has dura neg on melee, can close the distance quite easily with flares and jetpacks, and has fire projection as well. My vote goes to Pyro.

Heavy is more durable and stronger, but Pyro possess a range advatage with the Flare Gun, Detonator and Scorch Shot. He also possesses better mobility with the Powerjack and Thruster. Because Heavy is a sitting duck for the most part, Pyro can also use the Gas Passer to make sure that Afterburn screws Heavy over even more. My vote goes to Pyro.

@Drite Slang term for just walking up to someone on fire. People kinda hate because it's kinda braindead, but at the same time it's kinda ineffective.

@Jacky The only flare that can crit in this context is the Flare Gu (whereas the Scorch Shot and Detonator only mini-crit a.k.a. deal 1.5x damage on burning targets, the Manmelter can crit but just sucks here... and in general). Along with that, the Flare Gun is probably not the best to use at 20 meters due to a lack of splash damage, so Heavy will likely tank a few flares.

Scorch Shot and Flare Gun have explosion manip, which, unlike gane mechanics, will realistically throw off Heavy's aim. Mini-crits are still stat amping, and will still hurt like hell. Fair point on the flare gun I reckon

Also, isn't this a match that Pyro canonically won already? The comic makes it pretty clear Pyro had overpowered Heavy in one-on-one combat, didn't it?

They didn't actually fight in the comics. The reason we got the ingame weapons was due to the voting event during the Meet Your Match update.

20 metres away Heavy easily rips Pyro to shreds with any minigun it's not a competition. Especially since it'll just push Pyro away.

Well, in game rules aren't equal to Vs. Thread rules

So it doesn't matter if Gas Passer or jetpack sucks in game, point is, in a dynamic movement fight, mobility the jetpack gives is insane

Heavy with Natascha just pushes back any attempt for Pyro to get close, minigun will easily outdamage flare guns even from a distance.

Wasn't the Jetpack used only as a reason that Pyro could quickly reach Heavy?
No, it was used as point for Pyro's mobility as well. As used by Alex

Well you don't have any in canon cases of the jetpack acting anyway different than it does in gameplay.
Well, it moves at a high speed, has an inconsistent curve to disorient aiming, and can be used in a multitude of ways, Heavy on the other hand doesn't show any impeccable aiming skills to counter that in canon.
