Well, I guess it does just come down to how long Richard has a job see as how at certain points everything around him was getting destroyed, and if its really later in his job he inevitably flunks it and gets fired

Took a little while for reality to break, and even afterward it all went back to normal. I think there is enough time for Doof to activate an "Lose Your Job-Inator"

So what if its passive? Its effects arent instantaneous.

Transmutation can turn him into something.

Time manipulation can trap him in a loop, which he can't escape.

All of that happened just because Richard presence alone.

Yes, but Doof just has to press a button and he wins. Gumball and fam were still able to maintain a car chase with Richard for a while before they melted or disintergrated.

So there the chance that in the time it take for Doof to press a button, Richard could activate his powers. Then there is a chance the his powers might not effect Doof at all, and instead the sorounding environment.

The battle depends on how far is Richard is into completing the job. And since he has no control over his abilities, it's unlikely for Doof to die instantly.
