So, after reading… some… of the arguments for both sides, I think I’m going to come down on the side of Theory. Fighting experience makes all the difference in a fight at the end of the day, and kid Ace has little experience fighting human H2H combat experts. His experience fighting animals is...
Damn, that’s deep. Musashi is such an interestingly written character. He’s fun because you can just turn your brain off and enjoy scary slashy man, but he’s great because he has some insane depth to him. Definitely a character that Itagaki’s masterful character writing did justice.
I’ll drop more just in case, I’ve got about 26 on hand right now, but I can scrounge up more given time, just so that, if someone was to surpass him, they know what feats they have to pass up.
Yujiro is stated to always be improving in martial arts despite later in the series being compared to...
Alright, I nominate Yujiro Hanma for 2nd place for Martial Arts (the section that isn’t Traditional or Modern, my brain is tiny so I can’t remember what it’s called). I don’t want to shoot for 1st because that debate is going to be contentious and toxic as hell, but
To rattle off some stuff for...
I’m actually leaning “no” to the change only because I think the AP of their punches feat-wise and scaling-wise has always taken into consideration that the force of a punch is mass x speed x grip strength, since that is a real life phenomenon. To give any boost seems to me to be stacking an...
Voting Baki. He has the AP advantage via his “likely higher” modifier + an even greater advantage and speed advantage from Demon Back. Adaptation shouldn’t be too great an issue to contend with since Baki’s style apparent involves his body just naturally using the most optimal move at the...
Voting Baki via information analysis + analytical prediction, his extensive combat experience fighting people stronger than him (Yasha Ape and Hanayama), his ability to dictate the flow of combat to overcome said strength (Yasha’s biology being similar to humans and Baki attacking each of...
That sounds more like hyperbole rather than any issue with taking a statement from a third person omniscient narrator who, by definition, knows everything within the story. That is the point of a third person omniscient narrator as a narrative device. The author is using a basic literary tool to...
I’m sorry, what? Narrator statements are literally the author speaking to the reader. If we’re dealing with a third person omniscient narrator (like the one in Baki), narrator statements are literally W.O.G.
There’s also Baki’s Cockroach Tackle, which calc’s at 70 KT, as well as Yuichiro’s bombardment (technically a statement, but it gives us an actionable number like Nomi’s 100 metric ton grip)
As far as Yujiro scaling, I never thought the statements were concrete enough to swap 7-C out for, as there are at least 3 calc’d feats for 7-C, whereas there’s only one calc’d feat for low 7-B as well as many statements from (unreliable) narrators, the 3rd person omniscient narrator, and...
IR would be good to counter 0.5, but Garou would still get dropped if CTJ or Hand Pocket connect because they blitz him even with equalized speed via having 0 acceleration
Sure, sounds cool! Obviously with my late response, I’ve been a bit sidetracked, but whenever you want to play around and talk shop on the swordy bois, I’ll try to make time for it!
Don’t have a vote currently, but it’s worth noting that these are the win conditions as I understand them:
Garou) His regen keeps him fighting, his RE guarantees his win as the fight goes on, and his higher LS stop a pin/restrain
Baki) Baki could very easily win the first couple of moves...
If you think Zoro’s skill feats are superior, please cite some examples. I can do the same for Musashi if you’d like so that we can analyze and compare them.
Acrobatics isn’t that difficult to manage against, as Musashi can Go-no-Sen his landing and attack there. Information Analysis isn’t that...

It’s not just a cameo if they share lore. Jumei Kuga is not only in Baki (which could be described as a cameo), but Katsumi’s biological brother, a character in Garouden, is responsible for detaining Yanagi. With the incorporation of the lore, this extends beyond a simple cameo, as Garouden...
Honestly, I haven’t read most of the thread, but I’d consider myself knowledgeable enough of both verse to make a stance after reviewing their profiles. I’d have to go with Musashi. He simply has better skill feats as well as ways around most everything Zoro has in his arsenal. An extremely...
Yeah, Jumei Kuga fought Doppo in a flashback during Baki v Yujiro, and a random from Garouden fought Hanayama in the Korakuren Tournament and described the fear of fighting him similar to fighting a cannon, amongst other characters like Kozue’s dad and Katsumi’s brother being in a Garouden...
Okay, let’s start with Baki and chip people off along the way. He’d be High 7-C+, Low 7-B via DB, right? Or is that not what’s been agreed upon? (Low 7-C > High 7-C+, 7-C > Low 7-B)?
Yeah, after reading everything, I agree with a lot of what’s being said, but I’m a little confused on the actual consensus. Maybe this would be a little easier if we discussed one character at a time and came to a definitive answer?
Whenever is good, but I’d of course advice you to do an overview just to make sure everything’s squared away, but the community is pretty free rn. I’ve wanted to make a CRT on the new add profiles, but this took priority for me, so I’m eager to see the blog release
FYI, looked into APs for the two, and if Kenichi did indeed defeat Hayato to marry Miu, he’d scale to or above Hayato, who is calc’d at 4 KT via tanking a nuke. The AP should be (roughly) Baki with Demon Back Baki>=Full Power Oliva=15 KT>Baki>Kenichi>=Hayato=4 KT, so an AP advantage for Baki of...
Okay, so have any clear win cons been established yet? Mordred’s precog seems like it could present some issues for Deku, and Clarent is an extremely dangerous timebomb, so what’s Deku’s possible means of overcoming those issues?
