    I'm looking to get started on and publish some Bloodlines profiles soon, what are some feats, stats, and scaling for vampires with Dots 1-6?

    Also, shouldn't Antediluvians be just a straight up Low 2-C? After all, the Ravnos Antediluvian can create an alternate universe and survived spirit nukes the shockwaves of which penetrated into the various other layers of reality iirc, and the Lasombra Antediluvian became one with The Abyss

    And what's the consensus on the Tchernabog calc? Is the original calc correct, or is one of the suggested corrections in the comments the accepted version?

    Couldn't overwritten or just plain dusty materials be reconciled with the more recent/mainline 20Ae/5e canon(s) by considering them as being canon within different Tapestries? If I'm understanding the cosmology right, Tapestries are all individual universes with their own timelines, thus could account for incongruencies between editions by separating the editions into different but closely-related Tapestries.

    I'll ask some calc group members to take a look at the calc and double-check the math so that way the calc can be revised and/or applied to the relevant profiles. Praying for 6-C Meneleus 🙏

    Going back to Bloodlines, would it be worth getting/making a calc of the opening cutscene of the Bach boss fight? If it's a legit dodge, it could either be a supporting calc for Subsonic+ vampire base speed (the player character in the video is Ventrue so has no Celerity), or could up the base speed to Supersonic.

    Does infinite layers of underworld/low umbra qualify for infinite layers into High 1-A? Can you explain dot scaling to me? Don't really understand why it is an infinite hierarchy

    The High Umbra is where abstraction begins to go insane. My blog goes into massive details about it, but things like Plato's Cave for everything below it.

    The analogy for the Spires is that the entire umbra is a flat field of wonder while the Spires are the mountains, the mountains are all infinite in size and are infinite recursively refracting as the Tree of Life and so on.

    A lot of my blog discusses this in depth so there's no point repeating myself.

    As for there being an infinite number of Dots, there's nothing explicit, but we know from entities like The Nameless King that Dots do go upwards into infinity. He has backgrounds, which are far more specified on what they do per dot than Spheres, and has nearly all but a listed few at Infinite.

    In terms of what's listed, we are given abilities from Dots 1-9, however, once again, the Nameless King shows us you can go beyond this, as he has Entropy 10. In the game system itself, noting says 9 or 10 is the limit, 10 is what is show for Willpower, but many enemies have 15-20 Willpower.

    You can reach any number of Dots, the system doesn't have flat calculations for reaching X dot with EXP, but rather a rule of "6 EXP x current level" to go to the next level. So for Dot 2 to 3 it would cost 12 EXP. Dot 20 to 21 would cost 126 EXP (Which would be an astronomical amount, but entirely do-able)

    Q: Are there any disqualifiers for qualitative superiority?​

    A: The potential disqualifiers largely revolve around the aforementioned aspect of inaccessibility: A qualitative superiority is completely irreducible to anything lesser than itself, and conversely, it cannot be reached by any additive process whatsoever.
    The first practical effect of this fact is that the power of a 1-A character cannot be dispersed so much that it reaches into a lower tier. Since there is no conceivable extension of any lower tier that can yield equality to a 1-A structure, neither can there be any subdivision (Even an infinite subdivision) of 1-A that reduces down into such tiers. Unless, of course, this division is somehow non-quantitative in nature (i.e. The results of the division are not actually numerical "chunks" of the character's power); however, this should be made reasonably clear by statements or through background context.
    Secondly, a 1-A level cannot be attained by a process in which the lower level quantitatively "adds up" to itself to break through into the higher one, due to the total lack of structural continuity between the two; the higher level cannot be attained, nor expressed by, any expansions of the lower one, and therefore things from the latter cannot interfere with the former by means of their own lower existences. Put simply: A non-1-A cannot reach the level of 1-A by appealing to another non-1-A

    Regarding Kupala, should I upscale them from Bodhisattvas/Methuselahs and rate them as "At least High 7-A, likely much/far higher", or should I scale them to Antediluvians and rate them as "5-B, possibly Low 2-C"? If Kupala really is a Talon of The Wyrm, then it should likely scale to Koshchei, which fought fairly evenly with Absimiliard iirc. Kupala was also sought out by The Eldest for its knowledge and power, and Absimiliard (this ******** again smfh) saw fit to ritualistically bind Kupala to weaponize it against the other Antediluvians and/or whatever else Gehenna comes knocking with.

    Regarding V5's use of amalgam replacing Disciplines such as Vicissitude and Dementation, could that perhaps speak to what Disciplines the respective Antediluvians fully mastered? While I dislike the idea from a gameplay perspective, it does seem as though it carries some lore implications regarding how those unique Disciplines came to be.

    I thought about that, but I've decided for the most part to ignore v5 and focus on 20th for now.

    The only exception I make to this rule is Malekai, who's special Discipline being a mix of Dementation and Chimerstry, and this was stated in ToJ.

So I'm guessing for Horus v Mithras fight to have been as fair as it was, there had to have been something weakening Horus, since at his normal level of power he can do better against an Ante than any 4th Gen. Is there any suggestion that Horus was being negatively affected at the time?

    As far as I'm aware, there wasn't, and it was in Horus' domain, so I consider it a huge outlier for Mithras' power, especially since Mithras was forced into torpor by the German Blitz.

    WtO helps explain the Low Umbra's cosmology and how when you die, that's where you go until you "pass on".

    One of the reasons why the cosmology is so big is because there's entire gamelines dedicated to certain parts of it.

    Wraith is the Low Umbra

    Werewolf is the Mid-Umbra

    Mage is the High Umbra and Horizon

    Changling is the Maya Dream realms

    and so on.

    Another thing about True Names: I just learned that the Wraith Emperor Charon was named after a Demon of that Name by the Lady of Fate/maybe Eve, for the purpose of enabling him to have the power and control over Haven/The Underworld needed to master the River Styx and found the city of Stygia. Does being bestowed another's True Name give one access to that individual's power and abilities?

    I'm not entirely sure about that. Since the Lady of Fate is also possibly Lilith and I don't really know how much power over the Underworld she has or about True names.

    I don't think, in either case, she actually gave him a True name, but rather named him, which in effect limited his existence towards the Underworld (which is what happened with all the Spirits by Gaia)

    Getting back on track tho, I just wanted to double-check with you to make sure that the attributed ratings and powers were solid, especially in Nines' case since scaling him is a little tricky. Like in the same breath he'll tell the PC that he's not much of melee weapons guy, but then he'll train them up to a 5th Dot. We also don't get any on-screen showings from him other than him no-diffing a shovelhead

    Gnostic cosmology differed strongly from Christian conceptions in other areas as well.     In the story, unsure (it's up the the Storyteller), though in terms of VS debating, recursive hierarchies don't really work out since they balloon in tiering and don't really hit and end point. It becomes that diagram of Set theory where Vsause just adds the sum total on top of itself without end and it just goes up and up and up.

    I'd probably say that the Universe wouldn't/couldn't contain the Tellurian, as the Tellurian is considered to be a higher order of concepts. It wouldn't make much sense either with the plot line of the verse, since the point is the Universe and the Umbra are split off the the Universe is becoming more and more detached from the Umbra by the Weaver.

    Theoretically they could, and if a Storyteller decided it to be so, it could be, though the idea of that is that "Everything is complete", that is to say, everything contains all other things, not in the sense that we would be bigger than the universe, but that we have the same "elements" that could be anything else, almost like a fractal.

    1. There's several times it's implied throughout the books, one being that every single God has their own "Garden" this is in reference to their own realms and realities.

    It has to therefore be interpreted that these are Tellurians, as there's countless stories of each God making -the- Tellurian, and they can't all be true. So it follows that the Gardens are Tellurians.

    Secondly is that Archmages can create their own Tellurian from a balled off version of their current one, the implication is that we're not even in the "real" tellurian and are just existing in another Archmage's self-made Tellurian like a fractal.

    2. Like I said, I don't have any lists, you'll just have to look around for the books that focus on Eastern Philosophy.

    3. It's reliable. In later books they're confirmed by the Narrator that they are in fact true. For example, in ToJ: Gehenna, we're just flat out told that the Lilith from Revelations of the Dark Mother IS the Lilith we see in ToJ and that the accounts there are true.

    In 20th Edition Vampire we're told that Revelations of the Dark Mother remains to be true and that Lilith is Jehovah's equal.

    1. Did satyros (the writer of revelations of the dark mother) said that gardens are the tellurian? If he didn't said it then can you ask him personally please since he's active on Twitter and i saw you ask him questions about mages on it.
    2. Endless sea shown in revelations of the dark mother is what exactly? A Void or just a sea? If gardens are tellurian then endless sea means Void?

    It's mostly a cultural variant that existed in China at the time, a mix of Chan Buddhism, Flower Garland Buddhism and various other sects that the Cheng'en experienced and had known about during his time alive

    Sadly, I had to postpone my work on the verse, as I'm having some technical issues with resubbing to the game. I've done ARR almost three times now and keep finding new things that have yet to be added to Meteor's profile. Rest assured I'll be working day and night on this sandbox once I get my subscription to work.
