You read the title. You know what this is about.
My resignation and permanent leave of absence from the site comes after many, many years of wanting to quit. Some of you may be aware of such a desire on my part. I haven't exactly been secretive about it. Ultimately, I've accomplished most of what I wanted to do on here. And even if I haven't, I've seen others do well enough, or have actively encouraged them to accomplish that which I have left undone. I am content. I desire nothing more to do on this website. That is one reason for me leaving.
Another reason is that I'm simply getting to be too old. Powerscaling as a hobby doesn't have an appeal to me like it did when I was younger, if it ever did have an appeal like it does with other people here. I have other things to do now. Both responsibilities I have to fulfil, and different interests I wish to pursue. Ultimately this site is a meaningless time waster, which is fine if you're having fun. I however, am not. I haven't been for a long time now.
I'll still be on Discord, on the same servers I'm on right now. Just don't expect me to comment on going-ons of the wiki or answer many/any questions related to powerscaling. I'm washing my hands of this hobby. I've met many wonderful people here though, from all walks of life. I will not stop interacting with them just because I'm no longer inhabiting this site at the same time as them.
A good chunk of my life has been spent here. Over 10 years now if you count the date I joined, May 6th 2016. Slightly less or more if you're counting the absent times, and the times I lurked. I've changed as a person, in ways both good and bad. Gone through a lot. My first love, several griefs, graduated middle school, high school, and university. I've seen others come and go while I've lingered. Many of them are doing well. Many are not. Some, I do not know where or even who they are anymore. Some, I've crossed oceans to visit and interact with in the flesh.
I suppose if there is one good thing I can never deny this site, is that it has given me friends. Good friends, great ones even, that I regard with the highest esteem and the truest love. Enough for me to physically meet with them, and desire to meet in the future. I'll not bore anyone with the names. There are many, but they all know who they are. And they all know how much they mean to me.
It's been an up and down sorta road. But I'm glad to have walked it. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
