Yeah but according to OP steve would need to be like...I don't know, 40 meter tall?Is every character in minecraft not oddly huge due to the 1 block = 1 meter thing? What's the big issue with that lol? Just means they're big.
…no? I just told you earlier that Armor disproved Spaceman’s argument alreadyYeah but according to OP steve would need to be like...I don't know, 40 meter tall?
Oh yeah good point, sadly we have like 200 different ways to measure time in minecraft so uh....…no? I just told you earlier that Armor disproved Spaceman’s argument already
You don’t need to change the heights to make the speed work, you can just change the timeframe, that’s just how cinematic time works!
I’ve already gone over in the OP why using shit like the day-night cycle to debunk the speed isn’t that good of an counter argument due to how time tends to work in video gamesOh yeah good point, sadly we have like 200 different ways to measure time in minecraft so uh....
You forgot to attach the gigachad image.Well, unless you wanna downgrade Link to below average human due to the clock ig
No I mean, redstone timmer, clocks, sure minecraft earth is...Wonky to say the least, but 20 seconds there are still 20 seconds here, or atleast the same ammountI’ve already gone over in the OP why using shit like the day-night cycle to debunk the speed isn’t that good of an counter argument due to how time tends to work in video games

"We used to have 36 hour days, but I keep them at 24 now just to make everyone hurry."

Don't take my FNAF scaling away, please I beg youI’ve already gone over in the OP why using shit like the day-night cycle to debunk the speed isn’t that good of an counter argument due to how time tends to work in video games

The difference is that Zelda doesn't use game mechanics for his calculation, and the redstone timers are well...Timers.
- To my knowledge, ticks aren’t mentioned to in any canon source post sculk update other then guidebooks to be 1/20th of a second, so that’s out the window
- Minecraft Earth has the same issue as before where the moment to moment timeframes don’t match the long term timeframes (in this case, the day-night cycle.) This is like downgrading Pokémon because Pokémon GO has a real time clock in it
Genuinely, what's the difference in methodology between my calc and this calc that makes mine more reliant on game mechanics? The difference is that Zelda doesn't use game mechanics for his calculation, and the redstone timers are well...Timers.
I'll allow itYou know, since the LS stuff is already accepted by 2 staff members, and nobody seems to have a problem with applying the outdated tag, should I just go ahead and apply those things right now?
Sick, I’ll get to it soonI'll allow it
Hey, can you help me apply this stuff? There are a lot of pages to sift through, and it'll be tedious to manually apply the outdated tag and the LS values to all of themI'll allow it
One entirely relies on game mechanics that kinda screws the entire verse if we aren't being hypocrits and apply it to the entire verseGenuinely, what's the difference in methodology between my calc and this calc that makes mine more reliant on game mechanics?
It's literally just comparing the in-game speed of something to the speed of another thing that we know the in-universe speed of, that's all I'm doing, the single most basic projectile dodging feat you can come up with.
Also, the redstone timers don't even display any real-world time! A tick in-universe can be any arbitrary unit of time because it's never actually defined in-universe, unlike blocks, which are FREQUENTLY confirmed in real-world size.
It is very clear that the designer made it so that redstone timers match up with minecraft twisted sense of timeWhen calculating X for a specific clock period, note that pressure plates stay active for a short period after the item despawns. A wooden pressure plate takes 10 ticks (1 second) to deactivate after the item despawns and a weighted pressure plate takes 5 ticks (0.5 seconds). This also limits how fast a summon despawn clock can be made to run.
One second in minecraft is equal to one second in RL, or roughly the same, it is just that there is less time in minecraft. A bucket containing 10 litters has the same ammount of water as an industrial tank containing 10 litters, it is just that one has more to be filledOh, and by the way, what's the difference between the 20-minute day statement and the clock that's constantly in the corner of the screen, going 60x faster than real-world time? Both contradict the calculated speed, yet suddenly one is being used against my calculation, while the other doesn't need to worry about it?
Wouldn't the verses be screwed up more if we DID apply this to everything tho?One entirely relies on game mechanics that kinda screws the entire verse if we aren't being hypocrits and apply it to the entire verse
Where is that statement from? If it's not from an in-universe source but rather from a guidebook (or, in this case, a fan wiki), then I'm sorry, it doesn't prove anything. It is very clear that the designer made it so that redstone timers match up with minecraft twisted sense of time
You're missing my point. What I'm trying to say is that both day-night cycles contradict what we see in-game, and cause ridiculous results like sound traveling slower than a car on a highway, and regular ass animals traveling at literal snail speeds. If we applied EVERYTHING universally, it'd cause way more problems than if we just split things up to match how both timeframes are presented to us.One second in minecraft is equal to one second in RL, or roughly the same, it is just that there is less time in minecraft. A bucket containing 10 litters has the same ammount of water as an industrial tank containing 10 litters, it is just that one has more to be filled
Then it can't be helped, I disagree.Wouldn't the verses be screwed up more if we DID apply this to everything tho?
I mean, we have explicit statements for both about how long the days are, but if sculk or light time were universal, it'd completely throw those statements out the window. But, now I'm guessing you're thinking that we should just apply real-time to both verses, problem solved, right? WRONG, because we still have all the statements and other info confirming that, yes, these are real soundwaves, and yes, these are real light rays, and if they were both moving at fractions of their implied speed, that'd also be a MASSIVE contradiction!
I know it seems like I'm "having my cake and eating it too" by making the distinction between long-term and short-term timeframes, but really, if we're gonna find a compromise between the two, then I'm gonna go with this one.
It isn't an statement, it is a well, game mechanic with purpose made to mirror real life timeWhere is that statement from? If it's not from an in-universe source but rather from a guidebook (or, in this case, a fan wiki), then I'm sorry, it doesn't prove anything.
And you are using the same logic to make mach 6 spites ,and 400+ elytras that also travel at mach speed? You're missing my point. What I'm trying to say is that both day-night cycles contradict what we see in-game, and cause ridiculous results like sound traveling slower than a car on a highway, and regular ass animals traveling at literal snail speeds. If we applied EVERYTHING universally, it'd cause way more problems than if we just split things up to match how both timeframes are presented to us.
I'm not gonna continue this any further. I just want some more staff to voice their opinions and thoughts. The more we argue, the more cluttered the thread is gonna get, so it's best if we just stop right now
