Tbf, light and darkness in DR seem to be more like abstract universal forces rather than realistic light and darkness (a la Kingdom Hearts), so I'm fine with removing the FTL stuff for that reason
That being said, I am curious how using magic as a whole is gonna be disproved, and if that'll affect abilities as well as stats. Like, will we need to get rid of all the abilities from the battebox fights since they aren't technically "real"? Cause if so, I think that's very stupid, but what do I know, I haven't seen the CRT

I don't like the idea of removing everything because it's magic and therefore "not real"
I believe that fire magic is just fire, electricity magic is just electricity, and so on with everything else

They can be magical versions of those elements. You're not gonna have magic electricity being 556m/s, or sound waves being 343m/s in the same chapter Kris dodged a laser. They're either all realistic in their properties, or they're not. It's non-sense to cherry-pick which magic bullets have realistic speeds.

No, I agree, it's inconsistent as hell (though for more reasons than just being magical, otherwise a lot of verses would get unfairly downgraded), it's just stupid to me if we remove electricity or sound manipulation just because they aren't realistic depictions of those things, which I'm concerned your CRT is gonna do

Not at all. The thread's objective it to remove magic scaling, the word scaling being imperative here.

Is Charmander seething with the loss of MFTL+ DBZ and is venting his rage on DR?

That's a random provocative comment out of the left field coming from the guy who couldn't hold Undertale's hypersonic rating together for a single week after I came back. I'm just talking about my upcoming CRT, my friend.

Actually there's like a dozen and one sound attacks in Pokemon, same with lightning ones, same with light ones.
Any thoughts on that?

What is with this whataboutism. Solar Beam is LITERALLY using sunlight. I am 99.999999% certain that is how it is described. The move is the Pokemon absorbing sunlight from the Sun itself and firing it. Blatantly lightspeed unless I’m missing context.

Funny, I read on FB literally yesterday that sunlight in Pokémon is not SoL because humans could react to it roflmao.

Solar beam is a grass move thus it not light but grass energy.

That is not how that works. The move is EXPLICITLY sunlight. It literally charges faster if the battlefield is sunny. I wonder why…maybe because it literally just absorbs sunlight and fires it?

That what plants do but if we going to be real it is just grass energy and not light

Like if it is reallly light what is difference bettewen other sources of light that also sol ?

Give me a single statement that it is grass energy. Being a grass type move doesn’t count unless you wanna say Draco meteor aren’t meteors.

Because not all “light” in fiction is literally just light absorbed from the sun

Dragons moves get stronger with dragon items thus sugest dragon energy is real energy in universe

Soo yeah draco meteor is not a "meteor"
