Not only the op failed to provide proof and scan that say abyss = imaginary/path, but also horribly doing name fallacy and confirmation bias.
Plus current nature of abyss from new event in genshin totally debunk this.
Even if i pretend to agree if abyss was imaginary, saying nanook able to control abyss just because it's imaginary is totally bs, like even path itself isn't fully what we define as "imaginary" As whole, paths itself only "part" of imaginary elements, nanook can't control imaginary energy beyond his own path.
Saying nanook have authority over this is also horrible execution nether, it just like you saying nanook have power over all paths aeons and almost every single ability within verse just because everything made up and part of imaginary.

Tbf i think its more like IX has abyssal energy than nanook. IX is a direct reference to the soq and the abyss in genshin and the soq have like the exact same properties according to alice so IX abyssal energy should be fine (along with soq herrschers for future profiles) nanook tho nah

Nihility and Abyss still function differently.
The Abyss has a will and wants to destroy and consume. IX cares for nothing. Heck being tainted by the Abyss is noted to make people more aggressive like with Tartaglia.

This is it, friends, I've actually been thinking for a long time that the abyss/void realm in Genshin is a soq, but can we immediately claim it is a soq just because of its similar nature and name? Obviously not. Because that would just be an assumption and a headcanon. So, I mean, let's wait for clearer evidence, until Genshin really discusses the essence of the abyss itself. The Primordial Chaos is the SoQ. Genshin has in fact described the Abyss as the SoQ. “Primordial Chaos” is a HoYo specific term in a sense that it is not universally defined. Why should we consider an entirely different definition for the sake of your narrative, especially when HoYo could’ve made a distinction with different CN words but they chose to outright copy paste the same? Calling it headcanon without substantiating why doesn’t actually help the argument.
And the way Alice describes it just makes it sound like the SoQ too anyway.

at least from my prospective, the supporting side says that since imaginary and honkai energy are considered UES throughout the cosmology, Abyssal energy would fall under Honkai energy due to deriving from the abyss which we know is the sea of quanta. honkai energy supports the sea of quanta and therefore High level energy honkai users and above (lord ravengers, and herrschers) should be granted abyssal energy. low level honkai users can be limited or just none at all it doesnt matter to me

Their cosmology doesn't even have anything in common, other than the developer's statement that Honkai and Genshin are in the same universe, when in fact, it could mean something else. Now, has the Honkai universe been largely destroyed by the Abyss?
While the Genshin universe has been largely destroyed by the Abyss, that's why Phanes created a new world for humanity to live in. Because the true universe outside the eggshell has been destroyed by the Abyss.
The Abyss is all over the universe, while in the Honkai universe, their universe is fine, with no signs of destruction involved in their universe.
