Don't encourage crude comments like that.

I no longer have much desire to follow this series, unfortunately.

Genuinely, between the anime completely obliterating the source material and the source material itself seemingly just becoming worse and worse as time goes by, it's hard to find much hope.

I still love the webcomic, though. And maybe in the future the manga will pick up again. Idk. Lately it's been pretty bleak.
That makes me sad to hear. I came here for the calcs, stayed for 6-7 years because of the community this particular thread has.

But like I said to DBZDB2, I understand where the frustrations are coming from as much as I'd like to be able to move past certain problems. Because the chapters are short, it's harder to get immersed in the story than it would be with a 50 page saga every month. Because the translations take longer, we have time to re-read every single raw release like 10 times before we get translations, only for the translations to be a 1:1 of the webcomic. The ninja village arc redraws... happened.

In the same way that Murata has simplified his artstyles (the way he does shading is the biggest difference I notice) because he doesn't want to still be doing OPM when he's 70, ONE has been actively writing the webcomic post MA arc to consider manga developments. ONE didn't even mean for OPM to be a standalone series when he doodled the first few chapters, mostly just drawing practice.

He didn't expect there to be a world famous mangaka redrawing everything when he wrote the MA arc and Garou.

But by the time we get to the current Neo-heroes saga, many things seem to have crystallized for him. He capitalizes on the manga tournament arc to bring in Suiryu. Drive Knight's foreshadowing is likewise borrowed from the manga. The two continuities seem to have synced because ONE has the experience and vision to make a plot for both.

It sucks because we lose out on manga-only plot arcs, expanded character development, etc. Until ONE starts adding more manga-only content webcomic readers aren't going to be surprised by what happens, only how it looks.

For some reason I'm annoyed it's taking 3 days to translate a 15 page chapter (for free) even though I know that 90%+ of the dialogue will be something I've already read in the WC
