General DC Comics Discussion Thread

Reading through Green Lantern stuff, do we have any guideline for how large the space sectors are for calculating feats of travelling between them? So far I came up with a few methods:
1. There's a few statements that the guardians govern the entire universe despite only 3600 sectors, so divide the volume of the universe by 3600 and get a radius - this isn't very reliable for a few reasons I've noticed, namely for all of these feats so far it's not insane to say GL could live on the outskirts and travel to nearby one's. Also, I've been told the GL governing the entire universe is heavily contradicted.
2. Assume that the sector is at least occupying separate galaxies, so use the distance between galaxies as the distance needed to enter another sector - this one gets contradicted by a statement that Hal's sector doesn't cover the entire Milky Way galaxy (not to say it isn't galaxy sized, just that its border doesn't neatly encompass it) so there could be a four corners monument type situation in the Milky Way.
3. Assume that the sector is at least occupying the solar system so Hal needs to travel to another solar system to exit it - this one is fine, it's just such an absurd lowball that it's not even worth using. I mean in all of these feats he's going to alien planets, we already know it's solar system hopping.

For added context, I'm reading post-crisis stuff so I'd prefer statements from that era.

The metaphysical (immateria) aspect of Promethea can fit well in DC problems come with how to scale the keter and also Promethea is mostly kabbalistic though there are Gods from other pantheons but seen through a kabbalistic lense. I will soon see. How is the orrey High 1B not refuting just some insight?

Promethea itself appeared in DC comics
It contains all characters from America Best Comics and all their story-lines as canon events.

bit of a weird thing I noticed, why is the Overvoid, Source, and Presence all Tier 0 yet the Great Darkness only H1-A despite its page being that it scales to or above the prior three things?

Great Darkness is not beyond duality
that just seems to contradict the prior 3 being tier 0 then. If character A is tier 0, character B is equal to or greater than character A, character B does not meet the requirements for tier 0, then why arbitrarily place B at H1-A instead of resolving the contradiction (either addressing the duality present in character B or questioning the legitimacy of tier 0 for character A)?

also I'd like to know if anyone has a response to this, the general discussion thread seems kinda dead lol

Newer DC has it above The Light of Creation (local source) the true source is before the darkness as per The New Gods vol 5 issue 12. Also, The Presence/God/Unknowable sent the darkness to counteract the light. It's above their aspects but their truest selves are above the darkness

@Elizio33

You may need to clarify your explanation texts for this in the relevant pages. 🙏

Thank you. If anybody is willing with helping out with creating a verse page for the current DC Comics continuity, that would be extremely appreciated, and separating information for the current DC Comics characters into new wiki profile pages would also be extremely helpful. 🙏

Also since I'm new here how do I submit something as a CRT/it's own page?

There should be a "Post thread" button in the upper right corner of a sub-forum's main page. 🙏

You should be able to use links to harmless accepted sites, but you are not allowed to upload files directly to this forum. 🙏

Ah, so making the threads gonna be a bit tougher now XD. Seems I can't even use the link option at all

Does no one have any input here for calcing travels across space sectors? :< Seems like a huge body of MFTL+ feats rely on it, has there never even been a thread discussing this one?

Someone should fix this

Characters existing in, or affecting, the Source Wall shouldn't be 1-C or Tier 1 as the wall exists on every level of reality. A Tier 4 being that portals themselves to the outer edge of their reality to the Promethean Galaxy is still a Tier 4 being, and they are only experiencing the Promethean Galaxy on a lower-dimensional level.

What exactly do you want to be fixed

Adventures of Superman: The Book of El issue #14

Exhausted superman defeated overpowered sun eater who absorbed billions of stars in the galaxy .

He should easily be beyond solar system lvl at baseline .

I have a much clearer cosmological map. The one on the blog is of poor quality.

I also have a question. What is the requirement that Yahweh hasn't met to achieve High 1-A+?

I believe currently cosmology page is outdated not sure if anyone would rework it. Yahweh's High 1A was accepted back then when Goofy revised Vertigo page iirc he proposed two times High 1A+

Jon is already 94x baseline solar, but i think his raiting is outdated and he should be galaxy level because he scales to Rebirth Superman's base.

Only rebirth superboy would scale to rebirth Superman, we don’t have a profile for rebirth superboy because we have barely any rebirth profiles

Yeah the justifications for cosmology split are nonsense for example:
That last part contradicts overvoid being tier 0 so should be handled with caution
What the writers know about is irrelevant, we don’t judge the writers we judge the fiction
That page also says DC universe means creation as a whole on that page, which means that each of them just made different levels of creation
Those are very similar and could easily overlap
If their very similar and overlap then it could just be the same thing called by different names, just like how presence is commonly called god
That page itself says that the words multiverse and universe and world and creation can have different meanings depending on context, so creation does not automatically mean the same thing as multiverse

In all fairness my friend. Currently we merged Vertigo DC DeMatteis into one. So just think that cosmology page is outdated. But who will remake new unified cosmology from knowledgeable members(Elizio or Xearsey?) is my question

We actually do

The only Overvoid that should be used is Morrison as his version is the absolute. Snyder and the other writers don't understand non duality and theirs are not the absolute.

Sorry to be the contrarian but this merger will actually make the cosmology very robust and will need to very large extrapolation of stats, good for DC fans but of course many may disagree of pure vibes. E.g In this case New Gods being High 1A is guaranteed.

We actually do
Oops, I got confused by the fact that multiple characters are named superboy
