I've yet to read Rewrite. What's the argument for it being non canon? Assuming your blog gonna clarify this later then no need to answer this.

Also I'll check through what's posted once I'm off from work

I am going to be honest with you, the arguments are terrible. Like, they completely lack logic and boil down to: “the work was not published by Ryukishi07’s doujin circle, therefore it is not canon,” as if the company that publishes the visual novel were, by itself, what determines its canonicity. Within 7th Expansion itself there is a ton of canonical material published by different studios, so this stance simply ignores all the evidence in favour and sets up a false dilemma of “either 7th Expansion publishes it and it is canon, or 7th Expansion does not publish it and it is not canon.”

There are other minor arguments, but they are even worse than the one above, so you can already imagine.

There are people who literally invent interviews that do not exist, such as claiming that the cosmological model of the work was conceived before Ryukishi07 joined the project, when that is not only false, it goes against the very essence of the project, which was to create a world that would take shape through the union of the ideas of the three guest writers.

There are also people who split the routes as if they were self contained works and say that since Ryukishi07 wrote Lucia’s route and not Terra’s route, then nothing counts. But that is so nonsensical that only someone who has not played the novel could use an argument like that in a non ironic way.

I am going to refute all of this with evidence in the blog and put an end to the debate once and for all. The amount of evidence in favour of Rewrite’s canonicity is, ironically, superior to the number of connections that exist between the titles of the When They Cry franchise. It is astonishing that we are still having this debate in 2025.

Do you like the organization? Should I change anything?
I like it, I think it's laid out fine. As I mentioned earlier I think boldening the works in question as I did earlier would help people not get lost in the Japanese names. Aside from that I think it's great personally.

Actually following this line of thought, I suggest you could put the English name of the work besides the Japanese name

Looks good. I haven't read Bakemono, so I cannot say anything about that.

Related to Harem Royale, I think this image is important to support that Senrika Furuwada is indeed a parallel version of Rika. Given that, even though their adult versions differ (Rika has canonically small breasts as a teenager, while Senrika has canonically big breasts), their children version are identical.

Regarding Rewrite, maybe this side story, whose scenario was written entirely by Ryukishi07, could also be of some help.

Very impressively written.

I do wonder about LOOPERS. I haven't checked either the old nor the plus versions, but I have never seen any visual or naming references in characters. Except for the whole looper thing, which can be compared with Higurashi, I suppose.

Erika is a human. Did you forget how anti magic works?
No, I didn't but ok. I thought that anti-magic should reach the endless nine level to work like that because Battler got killed by Beato/Seven sisters (Ep3) though he still didn't believe in the existence of witch.

Yeah, you forgot how Anti-Magic works. The power of anti-magic depends on how much the individual is against the supernatural.

Battler, in the human world, despite being naturally resistant to magic, is constantly surrounded by supernatural phenomena, and by the end of each game he ends up collapsing from the sorrow of having lost most of his family.

Erika is a character whose entire existence is based on rejecting the supernatural. She’s the perfect enemy for supernatural beings.

Sorry for the delay, but we are just a few hours away from making the thread (I'm finishing the last section).

I want you to read the arguments and give me your thoughts.

Remember that the blog is far from finished and it will only be added as a page on the wiki after the cosmology blog is done and after all the works that are still missing have been added.

Is the "Human Domain" written the same way (in Japanese) in Rewrite and in When They Cry ??

  • [Really Strong] Direct terminology like “Human Domain”, “Witch Domain”, and “World of Gods” applied directly to the cosmology.
You could add this scan as supporting proof for the Terminology of "World of Gods" being used. The framed text says (note the following text will be MTL):
The Moon Arc, where the fantastical scenery of white daisy petals floating in the darkness of night is beautiful. The image of Kotarou conversing with it as he steps into the realm of Gods is just like an abstract painting.
Which can be compared to Beatrice setting foot in the Realm of Witches.
Wdym mixed up?
This. [3/4] mentions Kinzo perceiving Beatrice but is about Kotarou seeing Kagari, [4/4] mentions Kotarou seeing Kagari but is about Kinzo perceiving Beatrice

Endless Nine just negates everything regardless of how it works.
Not sure how Endless Nine works exactly (since I’m 07 noob) but I’m pretty sure Madness 3 is moreso a phenomenological limitation of the victim rather than a straight-up ability. So it’d be like asking “Can X negate the fact they can’t perceive a higher spatial dimension”

3: Cognition: Those who possess this type drive others insane as a side-effect of the nature of their being, with the very act of looking at or attempting to perceive them being enough to send victims into a state of madness or terror. More extreme forms are capable of outright killing those who suffer from their effects.

It is a supernatural ability based on the opponent’s very existence.

Endless Nine works by simply denying anything the user rejects. If Battler, for example, rejects the idea that someone so unbelievably ugly standing in front of him could exist because something like that has no rational explanation, then the opponent is turned into glass.

That works then ye

Speaking of, I just remembered that I saved up "When They Bark" on my PC, do we have any translators from Japanese in the thread?
