DCU General Discussion Thread

Assuming I’m in the same seat as James Gunn and coming off of the DCEU’s collapse:
  1. A live-action, solo Superman movie with Lois and Jimmy in major supporting roles, Lex as the main antagonist and someone like Livewire, Metallo and Silver Banshee working with Lex as supporting antagonists.
  2. A live-action Batman movie, which would take heavy inspiration (to the point of being a loose adaptation) of A Lonely Place of Dying. It would introduce Tim Drake as Robin, feature Nightwing in a supporting role and show flashbacks to Jason Todd’s tenure as Robin. I would have the movie start with a flashback of Jason’s death.
  3. A live-action Wonder Woman movie, which would take heavy inspiration from the legendary George Perez run. It would be set in the modern day, Diana would have her classic (and superior) clay origin, and the main antagonist would be Circe. Julia and Vanessa Kapatelis would be the main supporting cast, and Steve Trevor (with no romance with Diana) and Etta Candy would also feature.
  4. A live-action Green Lantern movie heavily based on Green Lantern: Secret Origin. Hal Jordan would be the main protagonist, Sinestro would be the deuteragonist and Atrocitus and Black Hand would be the main antagonists. This movie would sow the seeds for the War of Light and Blackest Night in this universe.
  5. An animated Flash series, with Season 1 being inspired by The Return of Barry Allen. It would feature Wally West as the main protagonist and Eobard Thawne, masquerading as a resurrected Barry Allen, as the main antagonist. The season would end with Wally defeating Thawne and officially taking on the late Barry’s mantle as The Flash.

My sixth project would probably be a Justice League movie that introduces Hawkman and Hawkgirl, inspired by the Justice League cartoon and Justice League: Unlimited, with the Thanagarian Empire as the main antagonists.

Crime Syndicate possibly ? I am just letting my theory brain of the leash here but they did say this season will have a major effect on the future of DCU. Now if it's not a marketing stunt, this is a perfect universe to have Crime Syndicate in.

Although it may just be used for this season and then never shown again.
 
Are we currently scaling Superman above Blue Bettle? Because I have an 8-A calculation for Blue Bettle and if we are scaling, Superman could be 8-A.

I would say not yet, if only because Blue Beetle is gonna be getting his own series soon. I’d rather wait to see what he actually does in the DCU before scaling Superman to him.

Why is that? Superman is the most powerful meta-human, but Khaji-Da is not a meta-human. Therefore Superman should not scale to Khaji-Da.

According to the DCU verse page, feats from the Blue Bettle movie can be used for the "possible" rating.

In 1-2 hours I will put the calculation in a blog and when it is accepted we can give superman a "possible 8-A" rating.

Yes, I know what the verse page says, I’m the one who made it.

I’m just thinking that BB could get better feats in his series, and since that’ll be set in the DCU, Superman could directly scale to it instead of needing a possibly rating.
 
If I was making the First 5 projects then my first will be Batman -

Financially secure choice and I would use the Arkham Origin story line as the base with the bounty being what drives Batman into deeper conspiracy that involves Blackmask (Main villain) and Court of Owl being the overarching unseen evil (setup for the next movie). With Deathstroke being the main physical villain along side Croc and Firefly. This movie has him working along side Nightwing while Tim is ofscreen investigating the Court.

Khaji-Da was knocked off course by colliding with a lantern. Superman is the strongest metahuman counting the green lanterns.

That specifc scene would need to br brought up to be DCU canon though so if it isn't then it doesn't matter

You can do the calc for DCEU Blue Beetle but since he hasn't yet made his iwn DCU appearance we can't scale it to Superman yet, besides DCU Blue beetle will need a new profile anyways

For the purposes of this wiki, feats from these “light canon” projects can be used to scale DCU characters, but if the feats (not just the movie/series, the specific feats) haven’t been referenced in the DCU, they must be indexed with a “possibly” rating.

According to the text on the DCU verse page, even though the specific scene and feat are not referenced in the DCU, it says it can be used for a “Possible” rating.

That's not what he said. He said that because he thinks blue bettle can get better feats in his own series and because the new series will be set in the DCU, superman can be scaled directly without the need for possible rankings.

So he thinks that the possible rating will have to be removed in the future when BB's series comes out, so he thinks there is no need to add it. So he is not directly against this cross-scaling.

🤷‍♂️ I mean I suppose but I'd rather wait for his DCU official appearance. On another note what's the 8-A feat?

No, its light canon for one and we don't have any statements for how much of the events are canon other than Rick Flag and Enchantress having a relationship

You'd have to prove that the High 6-A feat is included in light canon for possibly same as blue beetle, like atp its no different than putting high 5-A for Superman even if we know explicitly that he isn't tier 5 from Gun's own words

I guess you are right, the high 6-A stuff was mostly from the novel anyways and the novel mentions Darkseid so it's probably not even light canon.

With them full on confirming that Enchantress still exists, I'm expecting season 3 (If that exists) to be a full on man-hunt for Peacemaker. (Kind of what I was predicting for Season 2 originally)

I'm guessing that Rick Flag Sr.'s irresponsibility with the whole Peacemaker case is going to lead to him losing his potion at ARGUS (Not fired, but no longer being the head). So, he'll probably take matters into his own hands.

Rick Flag Sr., Enchantress (Sr. probably tells June about with Chris did because he wants so big guns on his side now that he no longer has ARGUS's full might), Judomaster (He still hates Peacemaker. Hoping he makes it out of this season alive), Katana (Because I really want to see Karen Fukuhara return. Not only that but Katana was a friend of his), Bloodsport (He's likely returned to being a mercenary at this point and I can see someone hiring him just so that we can have a reunion between him and Chris), Maybe the Alternate Universe Keith (If he somehow survives/finds his way into the main universe)

It’s only the SS 2016 movie that’s light canon, so yeah, the novel definitely isn’t included.

What source did you use for steel's vape temp then because we don't have an official vape temp from the wiki and I used an online sources so I'm not sure how you're saying its "wrong" rather than you just finding a different value

The link you provided for the vaporization temperature of steel leads to Quora, and Quora is not really a good resource to use. That's why I said it's not entirely accurate.

And I did not use the vaporization temperature of steel for the calculation. I did the calculation using carbon steel, which is the most commonly used steel. I found all the elements that make up carbon steel and their percentages. Then I calculated the vaporization energy for each element, then took a weighted average according to their mass fractions. Then I calculated the energy equivalent per cubic centimeter. Finally, I multiplied this value by the volume.

There are other sources in that 2700~3000C range that back the source I have but regardless the method you did does seem it could be better then

Yo, glad someone else out there would love to see Katana back. I really did not like the original Suicide Squad, but she was definitely my favorite character of the bunch. I can't lie, part of it is just because I like Karen Fukuhara a lot. But she was also just really cool; her outfit looked awesome.

With the exception of Jared Leto, 2016 has a really great cast

It would be a shame not to see them again (Same with The Justice Society in Black Adam)
 
So what was the point of making and selling a prequel novel while marketing it as a movie tie in with the live action actor as the face of it. Anyone who bought it effectively got scammed.
