DELTARUNE; Chapter 3 & 4 !!!SPOILER!!! Discussion Thread

A water cooler profile would be so peak but would it make sense to add it to the Mizzle one since Mizzles are in the coolers iirc

Does the titan qualify for resistance to Social Influencing and potentially Empathic Manipulation (not sure about EM, but SI sounds more reasonable) as it cannot be spared because it is something that can't understand MERCY?

is there like... anything to imply the sky itself is a massive hologram? if this was a reason to cast doubt on Ch2's cosmic size then I guess but with the new Dark Worlds I think it's pretty blatantly just an actual moon/sky
The "Moon" is literally a baseball

A bit late to the party, need to finish the weird route... but, given that not the entire sky is with stars, and it is only in a delimited area, wouldn't be better to calculate by counting the stars there?
For simplicity's sake we just take the average 4-A starry sky calc as otherwise it'd be a pain to calc every realm with some stars in the background.

dumb new lightworld calc idea: Chapter 4 gives us an idea of what Kris did while sneaking outside the Dreemurr house during Snowgrave (specifically bringing Berdly to the hospital and visiting Noelle on the Graveyard bench). this could probably get decently high considering how fast you can skip through text
I don't think every video game with skippable text should receive the assumption that characters are speaking sentences in 0.02 seconds. I think that should, generally, be taken as requiring ordinary speaking time, unless other indications about the scene put it as faster (in which case, talking can be dismissed as a free action).
Also Susie running to Kris's house to get the TV and take it to Castle Town
This, however, is a fine idea.

If Asgore got resistance to SI for similar reasons, why not.

Also, Kris and Susie get Surface Scaling via Claimb Claws, Kris gets Enhanced Senses/echolocation in Chapter 4's dark areas, Susie's Healing becomes legitimately useful, Ralsei gets Fire and Light Manip with his Light Up ACT, and The Player gets Light Manip with their Brighten ACT and Void Manip with their Banish ACT. Also, the Titan possibly resists Void Manip due to their outer shell being the only thing affected by the SOUL's light. I don't have the scans for any of these, but I'm sure you can find them.

a baseball moon is still a moon, it would still be able to qualify for that "pocket dimension with a moon" calc I'm pretty sure (plus it also might be implied that the moon just looks like a baseball given how both Noelle and Susie talk about it)
A baseball that's thrown at the player in the final bossfight, no less (I think they're the same baseball??)
no, they're not the same baseball, at all. I don't think anything implies they're the same, and Giga Queen literally creates the baseball during the attack

well Undertale did have references to skipping text, and the Wrist Protector being an actual item can also possibly imply the same thing for Deltarune. regardless though I think it might be worth calcing (probably just spamming Z without skipping text) and maybe using skipping text as a high end (I remember skipping the text on my Ch2 re-playthrough and chuckling at the thought of Kris sprinting to slash the tires without their SOUL lol)

The radius of a source of light can expand at less than light speed.

If a light bulb at low power only visibly spreads light 1 meters, it can gradually increase power until it visibly spreads light 2 meters. This expansion does not move at light speed; it can be arbitrarily slow.

From a glance, that issue seems to plague those calculations.

the fourth one is calcing actual beams coming off the soul, which is probably fine I think

I'm still a bit iffy on it having solid 4-A AP because the Delta Warriors can survive its shotgun blasts. At least 9-A, likely/possibly 4-A would be better
The Delta Warriors surviving it's shotgun blasts is a feat for them, not an anti-feat for The Titan.

It regularly weaponizes the darkness a Dark Fountain creates to harm the delta heroes, said darkness which usually is used to create a Dark World.
Is it confirmed that the "amount" of darkness used is 1=1 between the Dark Fountain creating/sustaining the Dark World and the Titan supposedly attacking with globs of darkness?

How do you even quantify that. It's darkness.

Like you could compare the sizes of rooms to the titan's boss area and the area a dark fountain used to create a dark world and you could argue the boss area is bigger, therefore used a comparable amount when it flooded the area with darkness to kill the delta heroes.

Again, Titans and Dark Fountains are the same structure. they're generating darkness the same way, The Titan is just hurling it at kris and co. instead of using it to make a dark world.

Can someone pass me that one area in chapter 4 with all the stars so i can put it on the profile i cannot for the life of me find a good screenshot of it

If it cannot be quantified, then you probably shouldn't scale the Titan to 4-A.

Extremely strong evidence is needed that the Titan attacks with the same "energy" that Dark Fountains use to create and sustain Dark Worlds.

Recall that this is a largely Tier 9 verse. A jump to 4-A needs extraordinary evidence to evade being branded as at best an outlier.

I feel like it's not clicking with you or something, because i've spelled it out several times and you keep saying this.

The same titan we battled is a dark fountain. they use the same energy because they are the SAME STRUCTURE. thats why they scale. You keep seperating the concept of a titan and a dark fountain despite it being shown on screen and later explained that they are the same thing. They use the same energy system, and generate it the same way. They arguably use more darkness in beating ts outta kris and co. than actually making a dark world.

If you wanna explain why a dark fountain would get millions of times weaker once it simply grows a shell of darkness around itself, be my guest because i clearly missed something in game if thats what happened.
