HELLO and WELCOME to the DELTARUNE CHAPTERS 3/4 SPOILER THREAD!
  • Free spoiler discussion. No need to spoiler your posts here.

Chapter 3 has the most blatant proof of R>F.

Chapter 4 just supports it further, lol.

Edit; YOU'RE TAKING TOO LONG.

I don't really think it counts as genuine R>F, as the characters from supposed "higher reality" still get pulled into the "lower" one and can get harmed by the supposed "lower" characters, I wouldn't jump to the conclusion it's genuine R>F too fast

The games are not describing it like that though?

They're using words like "real" to describe the Light World, whereas the Dark World is, verbatim described using the words; "fantasy", "an illusion", and virtually non-existent by comparison without the Dark Fountains. Hell, even the NPC's of the dark world recognize that they are less "real". I'd say that's a pretty strong qualifier ngl, but I've been wrong before.

Definetly curious to see what others have to say. This might be the next biggest thing for the verse either way.

Yeah but the things that still happen in the games, the fact that Dark World NPCs can still hurt Light World NPCs including the player, sounds like a major disqualifier to me. You gotta consider all the anti-feats that might be present. I would consider it more believable if it was also confirmed by either Kris or Susie or generally the game itself that Dark World indeed is nothing more than a dream or something and they were sleeping while all this happens

I don't think that was quiiite what it was getting at...

Anyway, the biggest part of the chapter for me was definitely what Kris and the player were up to. The Player manages to have a whole section where they're alone, and Kris is definitely working with the Knight BUT ALSO is not the Knight themselves!

The Knight is almost definitely either Dess or Carol. The sword matches Carol's, they have antlers... The body shape doesn't fit Carol, while every other Lightner keeps their body shape, so it might be like, a heavily corrupted Dess???

As for site-relevant things...
  • Huge lack of new AP feats. The Knight breaks some stuff, the Titan is big, not much else
  • 9-B Light World is kill
  • Ralsei can fly now????
  • Idk if any of the bullet dodging feats will be better than what we already have, but they exist
  • I think Susie bleeding is kinda weird considering rabbit baby's dialogue, but monsters not having blood is kill
  • Pizzapants has a (probably) subsonic feat lol

we now have:
  • better laser dodging feats in Ch3 & Ch4 (from Zapper and the Titan)
  • possible planet level scaling from the Fun Gang being able to fight the Titan (prophesised to destroy the earth)
  • solid multi-solar system creation upgrades (pretty much every Dark World has an instance of a starry sky except for Card Castle)
  • more likely physical scaling to creation feats (was already in a Spamton vs Dr Coomer blog, but now more solid)
  • new ACTs and soul modes (I cba to list them all lmao)

plus some new smaller feats like Susie running from Castle Town to grab Tenna and back really quick (there's more but I can't remember off the top of my head)

does it say that these are lasers?

i think the titan shown clearly can't destroy earth right now

the cyber world sky moves in the backround, and we have no evidence any of these starry skies have actual stars

Maybe only certain monsters have blood? Sans was the only monster in UT to have blood that we knew of, so maybe it’s just a rare occurrence or something.

There is a good bit of evidence against specifically Chapter 2's stars being real. We see multiple times that the sky is a big dome that can project stuff

But if 3 or 4 have anything, should be fair game

Chapter 5 is in 2026, which was cool to reveal in the actual game’s credits. Does that mean Chapters are gonna be single releases again, or is it just for Chapter 5 because it was supposed to release alongside 3 and 4?

Gaster says that the story has reached the midway point, so either we’re getting 8 chapters or one of the next 3 is super long.

The different chapters of Lord of the Hammer seemed to represent different Deltarune chapters, however I don’t remember exactly what they were about since I was focused more on beating Gerson. He did say that Chapter 5 was the last one written though, which is curious.

IIRC they said that Chapter 5 is in production, and there's not much info for how the production of Chapters 6 and 7 are going if they even started in the first place.

So who's gonna tackle the video game sections of Chapter 3 (i.e, Kris being able to project his SOUL into a videogame)?
I don't think we can scale anything in the game sections in Chapter 3 to anyone as these are just video games they're playing that aren't real in any way.

I mean, we see Kris getting harmed JoJo stand-style as he fights one of the Secret Bosses*.

Edit; Hold on I'll find the clip. It's here, timestamped. The damage inflicted on his game self (which we know is his SOUL) is inflicted back to his body in the clip.

...yeah no one is going to mention that the player controlling Frisk in the weird route following chapter 2...tried to
seemingly control Noelle and it almost seemed like a non consensual thing?or that was the implications that fridge horror can get you

About that...

The 2-D pixel Kris can leave the screen and attack Susie. Real Kris pulls her away before the attack can connect, but they seemed to think she was in danger. On top of this, Kris takes damage when their avatar is harmed, and can later walk into and interact with everything inside.

I don't think we need to think too hard about it, but it seems to be a bit more than just a video game.

Updated my Knight profile WIP, just need to tidy it up and add links and refs
Curious, in the case we do eventually upgrade everyone to 4-A from there being evidence that the Lightners' creation of Dark Worlds scale to their physicals, wouldn't the Knight have to be affected as well? I'm sure we still have months to go before we can make a CRT.

Yeye, it'd apply to them too. The profile is currently based on what's currently accepted, I'll update it accordingly

I am interested in the thing that implies Creation AP = physical AP, what's the deal with that?

This VS blog explains it (Read the Dark Fountain Scaling section)

Anyways, if nobody else is working on it, I decided to go work on a profile for Tenna.
I started a profile on The Titan, and i feel like the fact that The Titan, which is a fountain itself with an outer shell, is far superior to the delta warriors. isn't them scaling to it kinda strange?

It feels like Kris can only reach that level of power through amps to specifically seal the fountains, and otherwise isn't just waltzing around in the dark world being able to throw that power around all the time.

does it say that these are lasers?
the Zapper enemy itself is a TV remote, and one of its hobbies is listed as "laser pointer". (plus game files also refer to both as lasers)

Zapper's lasers move in a straight line, and seemingly bounce off reflective surfaces without any disqualifiers afaik

“Chapter 5, The Field of Pink and Gold. The vast garden is charred in an inferno of jealousy.” - Gerson talking about Lord of the Hammer

So Chapter 5’s possibly gonna be about Asgore and a Flower King Dark World. Considering also his ties to the ones holding the Shelter codes (Toriel, the Police and the Holidays), as well as how the prophecy in Chapter 4 mentions him once, he’s definitely gonna be important at some point.

I just finished Chapter 3+4 and it was honestly so peak!

Gerson is definitely one of my favorite additions to the story line, and I’m glad these chapters got rid of the notion that “shadow crystal holder/secret bosses were all driven insane by Gaster” concept. The Knight being a “secret boss/Shadow Crystal Holder” hidden in a seemingly scripted loss is honestly far more interesting than a carbon copy of Spamton’s and Jevil’s stories. Same thing with Gerson.

Rouxls also completely made it to where the Fun Gang could only ACT in his boss fight, in turn leaving the gang with having to get outside help from Lancer to even be capable of beating him. Ralsei was even taken aback by this, and really didn’t seem to know what to do till Lancer was capable of counteracting Rouxls’ card. Would this be power nullification or? iirc Tenna does something roughly similar when the gang is trapped in the gotcha capsules.

Rouxls Kaard casually using a OP ability in a combat scenario like this is super funny to me lmaoo, also he should be capable of calling/summoning the shadow ppl in Ch. 3

It's moreso Law Manipulation by the fact that changing all of the options into ACT warrants that.

So based on the new lore given by King in Chapter 4:
  1. The Knight creates the Card Kingdom.
  2. A “strange someone” speaks to Jevil about stuff like the nature of the world and about the Knight.
  3. Jevil corrupts King by telling him about the Knight and his future.
  4. The Knight defeats the other three rulers so King can take control of the entire Dark World.
  5. Seam locks Jevil away.
Is this about right? I’m not sure if the Knight was the one who drove Jevil insane or not. While Seam speaks of the two as different people, the Knight itself having a Shadow Crystal implies it’s the one given them away and it just didn’t have the time to in Chapter 3.

Good find. The vent I stumbled into was the progression one, so I missed this scene.
