I mean i get you but the whole off screen thing is silly to me, we see the fight in full, we see all the preperations and forshadowings (peel of your scales, you are my shadow not fushiguros now, the toji outfit and of course the little panel of gojo not being able to process dismantle sukuna threw at him during the start of their fight) us seeing gojo just get cut down and instantly going into the airport would honestly take away more than it would give,
The foreshadowing was there and i knew something was gonna happen in 236, but to me the whole thing felt less shocking and more just jarring and annoying
I mean hell for all the really big fights sukuna had its been an "offscreen" kill, jogo, maho (we never see the arrow hit), yorozu and now gojo. It honestly gives the chapter and the moment so much more impact than it would other wise (I mean look at the fandom that shit sent ripples through out the whole internet in less than 2 mins after it was shown)
The difference betwen Gojo and everyone else you mentioned is that for them we knew the attack was coming we just didnt see the moment of impact
Jogo and him have stand off with their flames at hand
Maho literally has the fire arrow inches from his face
We see Sukuna summon Maho before Yorozu gets killed
We see the wave of slashes that are about to hit Kashimo
In all of these cases we see Sukuna prepare his attack, we dont need to see it because we know whats about to happen. But with Gojo there were a million ways 236 could have started that werent Gojo lying dead on the floor
the afterlife scene was the exact moment that made it so poinent in the first place, because after everything gojo did, after all his efforts and training, people couldn't see him for more than his strength even those closest to him which is further supported by a few pages waaaaay back in a volume 10 extra.

I mean look at this people name some terrtery qualities about him but they all boil him down to one thing "the strongest" and look at gojo in that last panel, does he look happy? prideful? no, he looks alone a person at the top who can only be admired from afar, someone who can't be understood by those weaker than him, his greatest curse, his strength.
(and I mean its not like this point get beaten over our heads every chance gege could get)

(i'd grab more but i'm lazy)
right?

as for gojo's achivements I think it makes his character even more potent that despite all that strength he couldn't pull through when it actually mattered, "All the strength in the world but still unable to change it".
I think there is a disconnect here betwen us. You think that Gojo dying without accomplishing anything or having people realise who he is is a good ending because thats how he was written throughout the story (at least i think thats what you are getting at). But for me thats the issue because it makes his whole character ultimately feel pointless
Oh btw guys.

Do you think Hana tasted like chiken with the whole wings and dove shit he has going on?

YES!
thank you, it demonstrated perfectly what gojo went through because, even after all is said and done his closes friends even after dying couldn't truly reach and understand him, as;

The infinite distance between gojo and even his closest friends made the process of understanding impossible, he was a blooming bright flower that no one could truely touch or understand, untill the king of curses cut through the infinity between them and plucked the flower off it stem, enjoying its incredible flavour and smell.

wink wink nudge nudge*

I mean after I re-read the last 30 chapters and listened to some other peoples takes this became such an in your face simbology that its hard not to see how briliant it actually is.

Hell in all honesty in a different life sukuna and gojo could've been good friends (and I mean look at their fight, even during the near death situations they were bringing one another the bastards where smiling like they where having the time of their lives and both even seemed friendly to one another at points)
JJk is very explicit about the ideas it wants to present to the audience. all you need to do it pay attention

It's nowhere near as bad as some people think imo, but I do think the jump is slightly extreme from 235 to 236, I would have preferred maybe one extra panel, something like this

Maybe the anime team will do something similar when this gets adapted, though they might just end the episode at chapter 235 and begin it at 236. Hope they address this issue and make it flow more naturally.

eh I disagree on that point, mainly since in all the other fights Sukuna was clearly the superior to the level where it wasn't even a question who was gonna win or who would lose, with gojo and him it was different, this whole battle was a battle of semantics and tricks, it was not gonna be won through pure brute force but through a move that the other couldn't see coming (hence why sukuna was nervouse while gojo was preping the unlimited hollow) doing the whole 'Big attack about to hit" wouldn't really mesh well with the fight as a whole.

but thats where you are wrong, the whole airport scene was the past talking to gojo (Hibara, Nanami and Geto the ones who failed to understand) but gojo is now understood, by not only the king of curses himself.
https://cdn.****************.com/file/CDN-M-A-N/jjk_236_sv_016.png
and notice one thing, he didn't acknowledge gojo's strength like the others, he specifically acknowledge him, he didn't say he was strong like he did with kashimo and jogo. He acknowledged him as Gojo satoru a man who he will never forget for the rest of his (short) life.
and there is also another thing
https://cdn.****************.com/file/CDN-M-A-N/jjk_222_017.pnghttps://cdn.****************.com/file/CDN-M-A-N/jjk_222_018.png
Gojo has facilitated the future, he has cherished and brought up people that have finally understood him the people that could see past the infinite horizon of his strength and even he acknowledges it during the airport with this panel.
2023-12-25_193542.png

He wanted Geto, his closest friend to be among the people who understood him and stood behind him, but unfortunately that was not to be

Gojo's character is multi layered as while he was only seen for his strength by most, he has found people who one day could reach him and could see him for who he was and for all intents and purposes he has succeeded in that vital task and now that very future he has created is fighting to preserve the world against Ryomen Sukuna.

Honestly really good analysis cant really find anything i wanna argue against. You just gave me some newfound apprication for what was my least favourite writing decision in the manga, maybe there really are christmas miracles

Since we were talking about it…

I thought Gojo’s death being offscreened was one of the best decisions Gege made throughout that whole fight.

Why? Because man…man did it take you for a ride. That whiplash from 235 to 236 was insane, hit like an actual train.

Don’t get me wrong I was pissed ant first like all the others, we’re just sitting there looking at Gojo’s dead body and screaming to the screens like “How!? How!? He was winning!? He won! This doesn’t make sense this is bullshit, how could this have happened!? It’s so unfair.”

And I promise you dude, I promise you it felt exactly as if I was sitting there with Yuji and everyone else, watching the fight’s conclusions with them. I felt exactly what the characters felt in the moment of Gojo’s death as if I was right there with them in that very same moment.

That type of raw emotion, shock, confusion, anger, and sadness all wrapped into one chapter that was felt by the audience could only have been achieved by doing exactly what Gege did for chapter 236, and despite the anger I felt at Gojo getting off screened like that, I can’t say any other manga has made me feel such raw emotions as close to what the actual characters in the story would feel in the moment itself.

How do you guys think Mahoraga would adapt to more abstract CT's like Comedian or Higuruma's Deadly Sentencing?

Can't adapt to Comedian. Its too random and he wouldn't experience it enough for adaptation, its not even deadly to him.

Deadly Sentencing However? What crime has Mahoraga commited?

Either Mahoraga would not not be eligible for trial as a shikigami only its user, or he just wouldn't be given the chance to adapt as confiscation would nullify his CT. And I don't think he has enough intelligence to actually beat whatever allegations are thrown his way

Higuruma when Mahoraga adapts to the legal system, gets a lawyers degree and clears all of his charges

Higuruma CT is more complex than Comedian CT. There is a possibility that Maho would directly adapt to Comedy itself I guess?, similar to how it adapted to slashes instead of adapting to dismantle and cleave separately, or Yorozu Construction Technique as a whole. However, as @Duedate8898 mentioned, Higuruma might just nullify users' CT, thus removing Maho from the equation. If you are asking about only Maho without its user, like Shibuya, then most likely, it would be considered an animal, and Higu domain won't work on him.
