Something being made up of something and listing 2 things, doesn't mean it's only made up of those is how I'm seeing it. Those are just the 2 main things about the Soul Society (at the time before Burn the Witch), so of course those would be the only locations mentioned.If you won't take it from me, you can take it from Shuhei Hisagi.

Also, where is it noted that anime statements take over than manga ones in scaling? What I am aware of, that additions of anime canonicity is still treated as primary canon.

I think that’s supposed to be Mugetsu Ichigo with the Almighty. Also, this is wholly unrelated to my thread take it to general. He looks like Lelouch absorbed the Soul King and became a QUincy.
The staff agreed that a statement absent from the anime isn't valid anymore.

I'm sure there are certain contexts in which the phrase "soul society" refers to the entire planet, the same way the phrase "America" sometimes refers to the supercontintent of both North and South America, but the Shuhei scan proves that just as "America" can refer to "the United States" the phrase "Soul Society" can be used to refer to the civilization that is comprised of Rukongai and Seireitei. This is also supported by the fact that "Soul Society" is often used in a way that excludes the West Branch, so there's not much basis for assuming the highest end interpretation in every scenario.
