Will You Shatter Fate? - RP Thread

Hikaru walked along with the group staying near Ashe. From what he was able to pick up, it seemed like the two had some similarities in their past. It made Hikaru want to look out for him a bit. “You doing okay?” he asked.

"Uhhh, aren't you somewhat scared? This place gives off massive bad vibes..." Yumi asked softly, walking along with her.
Tom walked, although he was ready to jump to Limbo, he was next to Yumi

"A little bit but don't worry Yumi, I'm sure with whatever is in front of us it probably won't be able to kill us, at least not all of us"

Ashe glanced at Hikaru, flashing him a small smile.

"...Just gotta get used to this...walking stuff. Unlike some of y'all, I ain't got too much practice..." Ashe said. Indeed, his walking was remarkably...stiff, as if he was carefully controlling his motions so as to not fall over entirely. Seawater gently spilled from his skin, dropping in tiny droplets onto the ground beneath his feet with each motion.

"How about you, Heekaru?"

Ashe glanced at Hikaru, flashing him a small smile.

“I’m doing fine. Just wish I could have helped out a bit more. Can’t exactly say the same for my friend though. I feel terrible about what happened.” He said the frustration slowly leaving him as he kept a look out for anything of note around him.

"Your...spririt fella? Is he ok...?" Ashe said, cocking his head. Like Hikaru, he glanced around at the terrain as they walked, though didn't really know what to search for.

After a few minutes of walking, a voice rang out, seemingly the voice of an old man. "Hello...? Is anybody there?"

"A man at the age of... 74, at least." Yuri thought to herself.

(tfw then the website just doesn't give you notifications)

Jack followed the group closely through the dark, damp forest, as to not get split up. "So, anyone need a quick boost? I... don't really have anything better to do, and I want to test the limits of my newfound abilities." he asked in a friendly tone.

"Attack an old man like me...? Why, how rude... And all I said was hello..." A cloaked hunched over old man emerged from the darkness, gently leaning against one of the trees about 3 or so meters away from the group.

"I don't trust this..." The girl added in her two cents as she folded her arms, aiming to keep her distance. Something about that tone of voice, it felt extremely off to her. Nobody would say... something like that in the way they did without some kind of agenda.

"Forgive us for being cautious, we don't know what's happening in this world sir." Drew responded

"Uh, hello, so what do you want, Geezer?" Kuthaliara asked

Hyde simply observed the individual before them, his eyes sharp

“They’ll be fine. Just gotta give them some time to rest and recover.” He said.
Ashe nodded.

"...Glad he's alright then...what hit 'em seemed pretty powerful..." Ashe said.

"...Never seen a man that old....he looks like a wrinkled fruit.." Ashe muttered to himself, staring at the man. He flashed him a small smile, seemingly more curious than concerned.

Jack simply approached the man with a stride in his step. "So what's your deal? Are you some kind of monster in disguise, or just a random, creepy old man lurking in the woods?" he asked with a sense of authority and sarcasm.

"My deal? I'm just a resident of this here Forest of Dreams... And an Apostle, much like yourselves I would imagine." The old man explained, his hood still obscuring most of his features in a veil of darkness, but beneath it they would be able to see that he at least looked human. His skin was pale and dry and so was his clear gray hair, a large scar running down his left eye, a very large one that spread down to his lips and chin.

"Which is why we're cautious, what are your goals here?" Drew asked

"Hoho... I have no ill intent. I have only come to greet some newcomers into this forest... and to warn you." The old man said.

"I felt it the moment you arrived, her energy. The Ruler of this Forest does not take kindly to Apostles anymore... I am all that is left from her wrath, barring a few others I have managed to convince her are good. It is best you find a way to the next floor lest you call upon the Forest Mother's rage." The old man explained.

"What did they do to have incurred this ruler's wrath?" Jack questioned.

"It is a very long story... I can detail it, and the ways to reach the next floor as well as other basic instructions, at Mt lodgings. I have taken other Apostles into my care there, as I said prior.' The old man said.

"Hm..." Drew ran a hand on his chin a few times

"What do you think, Doctor Yuri?" Drew asked

"I'm fine with it, and Spooky(AKA Hyde) probably just wants to absorb the information." Kuthaliara said, Hyde nodding

"What do you think, Doctor Yuri?" Drew asked
"I can tell that he's not lying from the way he breathes and his heartbeat, so... I'd say it's not a faulty move to follow him for the time being. But, I'll leave it to majority." Yuri said, "Also, please don't refer to me as Doctor."

"Very well, what would you like to be called, Yuri?" Drew asked, acknowledging both of Yuri's points

"I agree, though we should keep guard up just in case anything fishy happens. After all, Ted Bundy could control his heartbeat and breathe, and we all know what happened to him." Jack said to the group telepathically, as to not alert the man to his suspicions.
