Heaven's Dogma (RP Thread)

Akarui's expression of swordsmanship parted one wave of violent stomach acid—and another soon followed it. Part that one, and then another would take its place in the violent thrashing of the centipede's stomach. Clearly, just slicing through them would do little more than buy time.

But, even a couple of seconds provided by Akarui's efforts would be enough to at least allow a few boats to escape the violent waves. The mandjet, with its superior speed and craftsmanship, would be the first to dash forth from the waves. Some more ships would follow, some that were lucky enough to be just fast enough to at least keep up.

The others, however... they were swallowed up, their screams reverberating, and then silencing immediately... never to be seen in full again, consumed by the centipede. The waves gradually calmed down, not fully appeased, but enough so that those who had survived didn't have to worry about meeting death at every corner.
"Gone, just like that... May you rest in peace."
"We did all we could. Not everyone can be saved."
"I know."

The duo whispered to each other.

The acidic waves gradually died down all together, giving the survivors a full view of where they had been flung through the centipede. But it was... difficult to tell. Whatever impact had caused it to act up, it wasnt just some stomach ache. Giant holes and gashes had been ripped in the inner tissue, writhing and festering in slow attempts to regenerate.

(Also bump.)

"Hehe! Told ya you'd be impressed! Now I've got a lot of acid waves stocked up from all the waves coming through." Gwen replied, clapping her hands.

Any of the leftover waves that were split apart by Akarui or ones that had been blocked away or even puddles that are on the ship would slowly be absorbed into the strings that Gwen made.
Nimah placed a hand on Gwen’s shoulder, leaning in to give her a quick peck on the cheek.

“Yer my hero, Doll.” She drawled.

The duo whispered to each other.
“Any idea what we oughta do now?.” She said, glancing at the duo with the same vacant, lazy smile she always wore.

Just before the screams started, Aurum had two hands slap over her ears, shielding her from the noise. But there was a major wince from her when the waves subsided, making her look damn near depressed

"Can't save them all... at least some of us are escaping to carry on their legacy." Arkhan whispered to Aurum, who only shook her head in response

"That's concerning."
"Indeed. It's never gotten this bad before. It might be time."

"Yeah.", Taiga quietly replied before speaking through the megaphone.

"Everyone! We need to go deeper! We'll die if we stay here any longer! There's no other choice! We have to leave this place if we want to live!", he announced.

"You two doing fine over there? You can get on our ship if you're in danger. There's still enough space.", the tiger yelled.

"We're fine!" Aurum yelled to Taiga, to which Arkhan nodded "I'm fine on my boat, thank you. It's easier to not touch shoulders with the masses..."

"Leaving was already the plan..." Kurai sighed, "But not with this many people... Damn it."

Stepping off of the Mandjet, bones began to sprout from Kurai's armor before she hit the fluids. The growing material continued to sprout until a decently large raft had been formed, one that could only fit her and one or two people.

"Gotta get the hell outta here before the place starts falling apart..."

She was best red by this sudden move, of course. But she had the thoughts of 'I want to impress her more' more than the feelings of affection. Heck, she was thinking about giving her a proper nickname than just calling her Nimah...

"Too sweet..." she muttered, "But it's best to save those later. I have lots to show off now, Nimah..." paying the same peck with another a moment after.

"Where are you going now? It's dangerous to sail alone, you know?", Taiga asked.

"Just let her leave. She'll have to take the same route to escape anyway. The acid can't get through bones so she should be fine. Besides, we have more space now.", the Witness reassured him.

"This is the second time she has done this already. She'll have no one to blame but herself if she dies.", the taller man sighed.

"...You'll be the ones dying if you don't move." Kurai groaned as she situated herself on her raft, the insides of the centipede once again beginning to rumble. This time, however, it didn't seem to be a quake caused by any outside interference—chunks of tissue began falling from above, splashing in the water for a few moments, before the rumbling ceased.

"...Whatever that asshole did to make this thing go ballistic, it's basically torn it to shreds from the inside. The thing'll basically start collapsing in on itself, and I'm not sticking around for it."

Unlike Gwen, Nimah didn't seem to react as she felt the woman’s lips brush against her cheek. She raised a hand idly ruffling the woman’s hair.

“Lookin’ forward ta seein’ it. Do ya best out ‘ere, Gwenny. Might even earn yerself a reward.” Nimah drawled.

“Leave ‘er be. More room on the ship now anyhow.” Nimah said. She gestured dismissively at Kurai—the woman's map clearly deemed not worth the hassle.

"Well, you say that, but...."

"....I'll need some ideas about this..." Gwenny said, placing a hand on her chin.

"You're saying as if we didn't know that already. Where do you think we're heading, hm?", Taiga responded.

"...The wrong way, probably. But I'm very impressed by your intellect... Whatever your name is." Kurai rolled her eyes from within her mask, another quake beginning to form. The holes ripped in the centipede began to gradually shrink as tissue collapsed in on itself, more chunks splashing into the stomach acid.

"...Bye." She slammed her fist against her raft as more skeletal structures began to form against it, giving it a jolt of sorts. Seemingly using the Mandjet's structure as a model, the raft was propelled through the acid, and Kurai's vessel went further off into the darkness.

Akarui would glance at Taiga, readying their sword.

"Should I pursue her?" they asked.

Gwenny raised her hand and asked, "Hey, I can use my strings to really absorb a lot of acid and follow her... but, hmmm. I need ideas, fellas."

"And there she goes. I just hope this isn't the last time we'll see her.", the tiger muttered.

"No and no. She's taking a different path from where we should be heading. There are no other exits as far as we're aware, but Eye have done something just in case she somehow finds one.", the captain of the ship said. Little did Kurai know, he had placed one of his eyes on her.

“Right now, just focus on keepin’ the waves outta our hair, Doll. Seems like Peeper’s knows where he's goin’” Nimah said, jabbing a finger at the captain.

"I was overthinking it, but... you're right. At the very least, the waves gets stored somewhere else...." replied Gwen, unwrapping more of her strings and carefully placing them at each end of the ship.

(Alive, in our hearts.)

(I can keep it going it just didn't seem like people were very interested. 🫠 )

(Dead link. Anyways, I can make this happen again if you guys want, I still have the plans, I just kinda fell off.)

As the Mandjet drifted through the seas of acid to its supposed destination, the sheer scale of the devastation that that crazed weirdo had caused to the internal structure of the centipede became evident. Sinew and tissue was barely holding itself together by a thread, collections of flesh falling into the acid and causing massive waves left and right. The closer they got to whatever supposed exit they were looking for, the more perilous the journey became.

Eventually, it became impossible to travel by boat. So much flesh had piled up in the acid to the point they Mandjet could not move through it. However, the chunks of tissue provided a... path of sorts, that anyone who could call themselves even decently nimble could move through without issue. Finally solid ground, albeit in a... strange way.

Over the few hours that they traveled, the Watcher suddenly realized that his view of Kurai suddenly... blotted out, becoming an uncanny blotch of black in the wide system of his vision. Somehow, she had discovered the eye he planted on her, but he had other things to worry about at this point.

All the while, Gwendolynn was doing her best to contain as much acid as she can with her Dogma, with the liquid she has absorbed over the course of constantly using it being a large large amount. Reaching the supposed "land" made her sigh in relief that she no longer have to use her strings again.

Akarui simply remained observant. They didn't bother slashing away.
