We should definitely try to be nice and respectful to each other, but, again, if we get too overprotective towards my assigned group identities or those of any others, and constantly demand that the majority of people on this planet constantly conform to us, that is eventually going to make them so sick and tired of us that it is going to create enormous backlash counter-reactions that are legitimately harmful, so we also have to try to grow thicker skins and be able to endure some minor degree of verbal abuse just like everybody else in order to naturally integrate and be accepted into society.

In addition I don't think that we should try to fit ourselves into very narrow definition boxes either. There is much more to all of us than just group identities.

Reviewing this... yeah, lot of wrong here, it was needlessly aggressive, and just generally me being a strsight ass, honestly I don't even remember what Milly posted to set me off like that, but it's definitely reason for me to be banned from the RVR unless directly involved with a report, and sorry for just being a straight dick Milly, my genuine thoughts on the overall matter are "I don't care what you are or what you identify as, it's the heart that matters" just to clear things up.

Secondly... this, throwing out that I was being hypocritically condescending in the post this was not the time or the place to actually speak on that, and honestly it's just bad posture and a rage-filled moment that I will honestly probably look back on in a few hours and go "Oh your a ******* idiot reaper".

But overall, I think I should just be threadbanned from this thread, to say I was being an idiot is an understatement, and I want the chances of a repeat to be 0. I'll just be reading Overlord Light novels until I can actually get to sleep, yeah?
 
Well, since Reaper has apologised, I suppose that a thread ban from this particular discussion should probably be enough. I hope that he won't be reported for anything else though.

what are your thoughts on giving him a grace period for when he wakes up before making the decision?
 
Respectfully, try to learn how to control your temper or step away from your computer until you do calm down so we can avoid dealing with more of your outbursts, because this isn't the first time people have had problems with you.

Good on apologizing for the condescension, though.
 
We have had greater insults used with lesser action. Reaper's consistent misbehavior is here on the RvT, speaking when his posts serve nothing more than to clog the thread. Therefore, I am massively in favor of a threadban as opposed to a full-on ban, as the latter is extremely heavy-handed, methinks.
 
That seems reasonable to me. Is any staff member here willing and able to apply Reaper's thread ban?
 
But that isn't comparable to actually encouraging somebody to kill themselves or somesuch. I mean, I have had quite a lot of people approach me in private regarding extreme depression or even sucidal tendencies, and tried to help them as well as I was able at the time, and also placed some standardised help advice in my wiki user page and our site rules about that subject. Fandom itself even has a suicide prevention information wiki in order to help its many members and visitors who are feeling very bad.

Anyway, I'm not sure how we should handle a case like this, as we have no specific guidelines for it, and I am also not sure how seriously meant the comment was in the first place. Should we issue a temporary block or just a warning?

The implication is that the person is insinuating the person is of unsound mind and faculties to be posting something like that, they are directing them to a suicide hotline not out of hope they "get better" but to highlight this fact. It's deliberately insulting and disrespectful.
 
It was clearly in jest, albeit perhaps a smidge dark for the decidedly super-duper lighthearted vibe we appear to be going for. A warning is enough.

Exactly why I reported him. Why would he even send such a link to a meme where it was completely unwarranted and uncalled for? Like you said, nowhere in that meme does it encourage anyone to take their own lives, not even close. It's literally just a harmless "haha government bad" meme made in low-quality text with "CUM" in it. It's no different from the "Mind if I shid and cum on it" meme.

A strict warning is in order. This dude has had issues before, getting pissed over Morbius and its memes for absolutely no reason.

To defend my boy Deceived, he’s retorting primarily in defense of his friends on thread like staff members Slayer and Shadow. YouTube is understandably frustrating when he’s calling people brain dead for disagreeing with him. I don’t think Deceived needs anything more than a slap on the wrist tbh.

Deceived never used any particularly harsh language, he said the f-word once. But a simply "don't get as heated in the future Deceived" is really all that's necessary. Deceived's far from the level of toxicity displayed by YouTube. That guy was in the Naruto general thread calling Shadow or someone else (pretty sure it was Shadow) braindead. I feel like there's a massive difference in the severity between dropping the **** word vs calling someone braindead. Not saying Deceived is innocent, but I don't believe he did anything particularly serious.
 
I've already received my warning by Andytrenom and i've completely stopped my interactions with Youtube within the context of debating him, i still talk to him on the Naruto general chat and we both banter with each other but i'm never going to debate the dude again, because this same exact thing will happen again, we just don't mesh well at all.

This doesn't need to go on any further, i've received my warning, let's just drop this.
