Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

Oh shit I haven't been on in a while. 1-C upgrades happened??

So did the 9D stuff get accepted beyond just the HDE status?

Are DMC 5 Dante and Vergil considered equals? Idk crap about dmc.
Physically? Yeah. Hax wise? Dante by a landslide. Skill? Dante defeated Vergil during the ending cutscenes in 5 and even called him an open book in the special edition.

So in theory they are equals but battleboarding wise Dante just manhandles him

Vergil is more skilled in pure swordsmanship.

Hax doesn't matter because there isn't a single hax Dante has that would actually deter Vergil.

Dante called him predictable because Yamato is pretty much all Vergil uses whereas Dante uses half a dozen devil arms at any given time that allows him to switch things up.

And even still all Dante managed to do was even the score after they had gone back and forth an unknown amount of times in sparring.

It's not like Dante scored a definitive win against Vergil at any point in DMC5, whereas Vergil at least got the better of Dante on top of the Qliphoth prior to Nero leveling up.

LOL no, Dante is more skilled by light years of difference.

Vergil only skill feats ever are "keeping up" with Dante.

Multiple actually, from non-lethal ones like sealing and BFR to insta-kills like Deconstruction, even his own reactive evolution is way better than Vergil's.

"I can read all your moves like an open book". That's not being predictable by using just 1 weapon, that's being inferior skill wise and Dante taking advantage of that.

Depends who you listen to. Dante claims he is 1 up, Vergil says they are even. But going by what we see Dante is more likely to be right.

Ah yeah, and Dante still countered Vergil and defeated him at the end of 5.

Doesn't that make Dante more skilled since he can use many types of devil arms, plus in the end fight where they compete Dante only uses his Legendary Devil Sword Dante
