"Law of the twin fish"

Hmmmmmmmm

i think the whole fish thing is a reference to the situation, with the big fish (aizen, YH etc.) "dead" the little fish (hell) now is becoming bigger

Considering how it refers to the little fish with stagnation, it’s definitely talking about Jushiro as the small fish and Mimi as the big fish since Mimihagi is stagnation and more importantly, Jushiro’s stagnation, both in power by taking up most of his stupid levels of reiryoku and by keeping his sickness in check. Seems pretty straightforward for me though I guess just like anything, if you look hard enough, you can see whatever the hell you want to see.

just means he has more fuel
Naw reiryoku is spirit energy, Jushiro had far more reiatsu (spiritual pressure) than the other Captains. I'd imagine it'll be the reason he remains relevant as a big threat in Hell arc. Had Jushiro not been afflicted with his illness, he would've been a monster, one may even say demon.

he had more reiryoku or reiatsu?

More Reiryoku means you can output more Reiatsu, which is what Nanao is referring to.

However, we don't automatically assume that more Reiatsu equals being more powerful in every aspect iirc, otherwise we wouldn't rate Yammy who factually has the most Reiatsu out of the Espada as unknown in speed.

So just because Jushiro has more Reiryoku and therefore more Reiatsu than the Captains, doesn't make him stronger than them by default imo.

Though I'm sure that if he wasn't sick, he'd be a monster in terms of power, which we might get to see in the upcoming arc.

Yes and no, you can have less reiryoku than someone but still have more reiatsu than that same someone. Reiryoku is your raw energy, reiatsu is that raw energy honed and applied, refined energy. They specifically note Jushiro had more reiatsu than the other Captains, which would insinuate, unnerfed, Jushiro would solo the Captains around at the time in terms of AP. However, higher reiatsu doesn't make him inherently faster or more durable, albeit it's likely he would be up there in all stats.

Honestly Yammy shouldn’t be unknown in speed. The fact that when they showed Kenpachi and Byakuya in the aftermath of their fight having injuries means he was able to tag them and injure them

Yeah he has feats of tagging people too, it's not like he has no speed feats.

You know, that whole scaling debate actually got me thinking.

Is BaseAizen stabbing FKT Yama the only thing scaling him? Or did we get more cuz I don't remember anything else.

im a pretty open minded guy i can sorta see it but with the novel nah it goes out of the window.tbf the novel ruined alot of my personal scaling chains too

Databook statements claiming Aizen had no equal in Soul Society, tanking the sacrificial kido, stabbing a Yama that could tank his own prep Shikai flames, and that’s what comes to the top of my head.

I mean, Yama knew getting stabbed was his wincon. So there is solid argument for saying he allowed it to happen.

-and tanking a last-ditch atk from the guy laid out from taking his own full strength does not scale you to said full strength.

If you wanted to take that route sure, but then look at the narrative.

Yamamoto says “you will die with me”, implying that to kill Aizen Yama thinks he’ll need firepower great enough to even kill himself. It’s a self admission from Yama that Aizen is relative. The very fact Yama spent the time making a prep final attack instead of fighting with his normal flames should speak volumes as well.

Then Aizen no-sells a high 90s level offensive spell from Yama with slight burn marks. Like you can’t argue he’s not at least relative.

Considering Yama proceeds to not only tank, but compress a comparable amount of power, I'm somewhat inclined to believe that he was just showing that he was prepared to die.

The kido is sketch, Yama was empty at that point. The fact that he resorted to using something sacrificial is telling.
And sure, Yama needed to keep his guard up. That doesn't stop him from being >BaseAizen
