This is a thread for requesting translations from foreign languages from other members of this community.

However, take note that it has to be important for the purpose of figuring out proper statistics ratings, and similar issues relating to our work on improving the quality of this wiki.

Here are some basic rules:

  1. Help with translation requests is voluntary, and not mandatory. As such, other users should not complain if they don't get translations quickly or at all.
  2. If a member is asking for a translation, it shouldn't be more than a relevant paragraph or two, as no one has the time to translate entire chapters or books. If someone submits large text segments, that take up a lot of the thread, the post will be deleted.
  3. This thread could be used to translate any language, as long as there are users who are familiar with them. However, again, help is entirely voluntary, not compulsory.
If you are willing to help out with translating text segments for evaluation purposes, please write down your username in this list.

Translators should preferably keep in mind to first save their work in a word processor before posting it, as Wikia is very glitchy, and might not submit a post, which would instantly erase all of the work.

Also, take note that repeatedly pestering other members about translations is strictly prohibited, and may lead to blocks being enforced.

Hop suggests we also make a partner page called Translators o rmultilanguage members, like how we have with the knowledgeable users page. but for user that volunteer to translate, or who just know more than one language. Hop speaks Spanish.

A translators page seems like a good idea, but again, we should not demand translations of long text segments from anybody.

Also, I currently do not have the time to write the structure of the page myself. I will try to do further work on the staff membership drive today.

Well this is all voluntary and if someone wants to volunteer to translate longer texts, as in anything over 3 paragraphs, i see no problem with that, they might not want to anything more than 4 paragraphs maybe but can do 3 paragraphs on their walls.

The relevant translations are going to be for Japanese as obviously that will be the most requested and the people who have volunteered to do Japanese translations have no desire to do anything over 2 paragraphs, however other people who have less relevant translation request like KamiYasha have expressed desires to translate longer text as long as they have time. I am just saying we give them the option to do that on their wall.

I have written a note of my personal restrictions and we should advise others to do so if they put their names on the page or their user pages.

Okay then.

So should we write languages we speak on our wall? I personally other than English speak German,Italian and Serbian (croation and bosnian as well but that's because they are very similar to Serbian).

I am adding the languages I am volunteering to translate to my profile, which are Korean and Japanese.

I can help to translate english and italian text (like i did with the dragon ball gt one).

DarkLK requested this to be translated on Ven's wall. It's kind of blury but, I'll see what I can do.

@Sera Thank you very much for the help.

Like i said before, I'm available for Spanish, doesn't matter how long, as long as i have time.

I can help with anything Greek related, though i doubt there will be much.

I have create the list here, you can add yourself under a language and link your message wall if you want and indicate whether or not you are ok with translating anything over 3 paragraphs.

Well I did add me, Ven, and Baki, but someone was editing so...it didn't save... *sad*

I was adjusting the structure of the page. Sorry.

Well, is 3 paragraphs the maximum that can be requested? Also, I'm gonna add German to the list and then add myself if that's fine.

Depends on what the members want to do, if they want to do more than 3 paragraphs, they can write that.

It's alright guys. I re-added them. No worries. ^_^

So now that this is in working order i have something i want translated and of course it's Japanese:

Help translating this would be appreciated.

I tried my best with this, but it uses outdated Kanji not taught in the schools anymore. Hope you can at least understand the gist of it.

"Regulus' 'invincible' by 'authority' not greed. The identity of the overwhelming power of the evil man is "stationary of the object's time."

It is appealing, triumphant, never missing. Regulus spoke distortion at every turn, it was the way he was, but it was also an exposure of his ability to not hide at the same time.

"Because the time of the body is stopped, we don't get wet with water, nor attacked, because the sands of time that I threw is stopping, I will pass through like a penetrating object without being hit by the wall"

In manga you have power familiar to a riffle, "Rupture of space". It literally causes cracks in the space itself, cutting it without regard to the intensity of what passes through it, but Regulus is a kind of existence itself.

Legulus ┬À Cornius which can be called time distortion itself. It is just a byproduct of the authority of "authority of time to stop the object" according to his words as if the dimension is different. In other words,

"- The gift of freezing time, that is the identity of your power!"

I wonder if auditory speech is ok too (maybe clips of 5 min or more)

No, this is something people are volunteering to do, nobody has time to be making 5 minute audio videos, why would we even need that though? This is to help with important feats that relate to this wiki, if it's a quote or a scan, which we have already specified as a general rule shouldn't be more than a paragraph or two, unless the person specifies they would like to do more, no one is doing anything too long, we are only translating quotes, not entire chapters or books, you post a one to two paragraph quote, someone translates, quick and easy, no need to make it complicated.

Celestial Pegasus said:

you do not have to make anything I'll just show you the exact segment and all you do is just tell me what they are saying, same thing

Do we even have a code for that? If it doesn't require anymore work for those who are translating and all you are doing is just making what they are saying audible, there is nothing wrong with that, a bit unnecessary imo though.

This thread is just starting out, and there hasn't been much translations being asked for so far, so don't really think we need to expand on anything more just yet. But if you want to volunteer to do that, go ahead i guess.

So i have yet another Japanese line to be translated, no one else seems to want anything translated, so i am taking the opportunity to get some things i would like more info on.

Same type kanji as before, as it's from the same story, this seems to give a certain character precog, i just need to confirm it.

Well, according to Tsubaki, who has worked as a translator before, translating speech is much different than translating text. Again, that is unnecessary to me. Why would we need to do that? I remember when someone sent her two six minute videos and asked her to translate them.

Furthermore, I think there should be a rule that no one should request anything that goes beyond the 3000 unique kanji barrier (such as the Masadaverse) as even expert Japanese speakers like Ven have trouble translating it. Your everyday Japanese citizen is not going to be able to help much with that, in Japan the minimum Kanji requirement to graduate is about 2100 nationally.

This is what I mean:

Learned at Shōgakkō (Õ░ÅÕ¡ªµáí): 1,000 kanji: Schoolchild

Jōyō Kanji (Õ©©þö¿µ╝óÕ¡ù): 2136 kanji: Good reader (Momo and I are at this level)

Kanken level pre-one: 3,000 kanji: Excellent reader (Ven and Myeo are at this level)

Kanken level one: 6,000 kanji: Kanji expert (Tsubaki is at this level)

Dai Kan-Wa Jiten: 50,000 kanji: Specialist (Alice is at this level)

"Super sense of Reinhardt.

A threat approaching oneself and a tremendous intuition that distinguishes every attack in advance. That keen sensation does not allow backward avoidance. Instantly trying to find another candidate, the crouching knee stopped.

"The air around is already there after I touch it."

The sharp sense brought rigidity, and Reinhardt at this moment was unprotected. A trap that cannot be seen that exists in such a way as to enclose himself largely in the rear. The decision of Reinhardt is to move forward beside the bad guys by moving forward, for which a blow of restraint is necessary."

From what i can see even just a little over 2000 kanji would be like 3 or 4 paragraphs, we already said it should only be a paragraph or two at most, so i think the rule in place already covers that.

So precog yes, thank you again sera.

That's not what I meant. There can be a sentence with Kanji that no ordinary student who has graduated high school would know. Certain works specialize in the use of unique, outdated, and special kanji. The same case is with Chinese. Vernacular Chinese uses characters today's Chinese citizens do not learn in school. It has little to do with the size of the body in question, be it a paragraph, an entire essay, or a sentence.

For example, look at how many ways you can you write "Akira" in Japanese: Õ¢░, µÿÄ, Úíò, þ½á, Þü┤, Õàë, µÖÂ, µÖä, Õ¢¼, µÿ (these are only a fraction of the numerous ways to spell a simple name). When I learned Hanja in school, I only learned of those ten Kanji for Akira. Now imagine if I came across the other numerous kanji for "Akira". I would have no idea what they mean and would probably need to use a dictionary.

That is a problem, yes. However, I do not think that people who are not fluent in Japanese, and make requests, will be able to tell the difference.
