A battle between two Nintendo jesters (Grace)

  • That's the only hax Dimention has that would work
  • Dimentio can't take any of Marx's hax (Black Hole and Friend Heart)
  • Marx doesn't even need those as he one-shots
This is a clear win for Marx. We will see a 2-B version of this same match again in a few years.

So is this stomp? If it is, would it be fairer fight with Pre-Star Allies Marx?

It's not a stomp, just decisive. Pre-Star Allies Marx would make it a bit more fair, that would mean no Friend Hearts but still AP to one-shot.

If it's Pre-Star Allies Marx, then Dimentio snaps and mind controls Marx. Also Dimentio has a scalling chain of his own.

Ah yes, Pre-Star Allies means no mindhax resistance. Which one will be?

Very well, prove that he starts with it before he could get one-shotted.

He did it against Mario and Luigi in the bad ending as well.

He doesn't definitely start with it, that's exaggerated. He has used it in a few occasions and I at least know of others where he didn't. Those just being cases where he didn't start with it, I'm pretty sure he has no reason to always initially use the stuff he has initially used before, but most of things he can do. Rarely do characters have a list of specific things they always start doing.

When encountering Dimentio, more times than not, he will mind control. The reason he won't always prior to the final boss is because it's his plan. His plan is to let the four heroes use the Pure Hearts, defeat Bleck, so he can take the Chaos Heart himself. This is why we see him go for mind manipulation in the bad ending, so his plan can succeed.

That's a headcanon with notable holes in it, he could have still used mind manip after controlling Luigi at the end but he fought the others, he could have always used mind manip in all the game and still get away with his plan; if the heroes needed to not be mind controlled then he can always just stop using his power, and that bad ending even shows that he can make Mario & Luigi fight Bleck when controlled by him.

Not exactly. Here he says that he needed the four heroes to do all the work. In order for them to even stand up to Bleck, they needed the Pure Hearts. Something Dimentio couldn't get on his own. Why didn't he just mind control here and there? Because Dimentio found out Mario is one of the four heroes that can obtain them. The only reason he mind controlled Luigi specifically was because he was an ideal host for the Chaos Heart, so he kept him. He's okay with mind controlling everyone else, because at that point they have all the Pure Hearts. The Dark Prognosticus is the thing that foretold all of this in the first place. It wouldn't matter if Dimentio did or didn't control them, because the book already told that the Green One (Luigi) would join the dark side.

Oh my bad. Still not sure if he uses his Hax in character before Marx does anything, one shotting in the process.

Well he does, I have provided three scans of him mind controlling which is pretty consistent.

Quick reminder, the previous reasons for Dimentio explain how he couldn't have done something, but that's not the same as to say that he would have done it if he could. For example, once he controlled Luigi in the end he didn't control anyone else, he fought them. I don't think the arguments here for Dimentio have as much substance as you guys think they have.

I acknowledge all the stuff said before, just in case anyone wants to cover what I said with one of those more-quick-than-thought comments.
