High School D×D Discussion Thread #4

So 1st comment on this thread, someone has news about Shin DxD 3 ? The release date ? All I know is that it'll be Koneko, Gasper, Ingvild and Ravel's school trip to Kyoto
 
Apparently, someone posted something on the DxD wiki that indicates it will be released in July. It's not confirmed yet, but I hope it's true.

Haven't heard anything about SLASHD├ÿG 4 though.
 
The volume ain't on the publisher websit for july so not july but maybe august ?

Btw, Ishibumi's wondering since last year if he should add a blonde busty elf in the novel. I totally approve it
 
Koneko and Issei's voice actors got married.

Ishibumi congratulated them and said Koneko is best girl and even tweeted later that it actually makes him want to write specific Koneko x Issei scenes for the novel.

I still don't see the point of your CRT, it doesn't anything on his level. We're not gonna to write 10 pages for each key on Issei's page. "Obliterated a complete and sturdier replication of Kyoto" when Ishibumi said he did it, is fine.

Did you even read the thread? I already hinted there as to why it could be a writing error on Ishibumi's part despite the overall intent for the scene. And evidences are already in there as to show why "Obliterated a complete and sturdier replication of Kyoto" can be questionable given the additional information behind the feat.

And no you don't need 10 pages on Issei's key (unless the 10 page part is just implying sarcasm)

And you have to take into account that the series was told in first person point of view, meaning that characters in the series are the ones that are narrating what's happening.
 
According to Ishibumi on twitter, Issei'll have a power up in Shin 3. I think he'll have Lilith power and could freely use True DxD

Hmm, I thought it's supposed to be a new attack. If it's a power up though, that could mean Erebus has something to combat Pseudo DxD like Nyx, cause I'm not seeing how he doesn't get stomped without any countermeasures against Dragon Deification.

They know that Issei is really strong, so they'll prepare countermeasures against him. The novel keep telling us, people need to think before and during a fight
 
Yeah, I didn't see anything like that too but someone apparently posted visual evidence from a magazine showing that it will be released on that date, along with the release dates for other LNs in July.

If it's true, Ishibumi will post about it in July.
 
Excited to see Issei new power up in the new volume.

Also I wonder how Vali is going to match Issei with the new power up and all, I mean Current Issei can manifest Ddraig and and on his own already comaparable to Vali plus 2 Dragon slayer sword.

I hope Vali will get somekind of power up in the future, like ability to manifest Albion, that would be cool.

I saw it too but on the editor page there's no Shin DxD for July. The magasine must be wrong

I think Vali will be able to summon Albion and their final fight will be a 2vs2 issei/ddraig vs vali/albion
 
I believe so too, but Vali also needs other powerups aside from that. I mean, it's already implied that we will see AxA in the tournament and Vali has nothing on the horizon yet.

I personally hope the match is somehow a draw if they reach the final, don't wanna see the destined match settled just yet. But Azazel said there must be a winner, so.

Yes, I'm talking about Vali and Ise.

I've checked the DxD blog again and the release is postponed to August 20.
 
You know what's crazy, Issei got as powerful as he did in in a little over a year, while vali has been using bxb for years, Issei surpassed devils and gods who have been around for 1000s of years, Imagine how powerful he would be in 1000 years. I'd love to see a sequel set in the future after shin, where the supernatural and normal world live in harmony.
 
Well, it's pretty common for supernatural series like this. He'd probably currently be like Ultimate-class normally and at least Maou-class with Juggernaut Drive if he didn't happen to try and save Ophis back then. Vali would be God-class with EJOD. Based on Slash Dog spoilers, I'd say Vali has been using BxB for five years now.

I think he'll peak at Dragon God-class and higher with external powerups based on what Chichigami has been saying.
 
I think both would have still reached HD-class though. Ophis' blessing just allowed Vali to tap into his latent Lucifer power and combine it with Albion's power to reach HD-class. Judging by how talented Vali is, I'd say he'd have reached an answer by himself eventually.

It's more difficult for Ise since he's not naturally talented and was just a completely average human. But seeing as CxC was like the alternative to Juggernaut Drive which can potentially bring out Ddraig's full power, Ise could have done so with some weird method. It's definitely not out of the question given that Euclid could have done so with a normal BxB due to his talent. Though like I said, he'd probably do so with a weird method since he's not a genius.

It's just that it'd take a loooong time for them to potentially do this.

Interesting to see how Koga's forced Balance Breaker is kinda similar to Mitsuya's armour.

Now I'm interested in the leader of the Chaos team.
 
It also mentioned "Over Booster" much like Issei's initial Incomplete Balance Breaker. I wonder if the gauntlet system is modeled after the Boosted Gear in some way (both are gauntlets so there's two links with that), or if Over Booster is a common term for forced Balance Breakers.
 
I'll go with the latter for now, makes sense with what Issei went through back then.

The transference type Sacred Gear that uses mist reminds me of what Azazel said about the Longinus combining different abilities from multiple Sacred Gears. Unsure if that still holds true though, I don't imagine there'd be another Sacred Gear that can manipulate dragons like Neried Kyrie, for example.
 
I reread some things, we should move Divine Dividing to the Balance Breaker tab for Issei since he can now only use it through the wyverns.

For other things, I believe Ise should get some form of resistance to magic (only with the partial dragon transformation where he gets dragon scales) since Rose said dragon scales are resistant towards magic.

Vali should have sealing without the Crimson Gourd as he was able to seal Gasper's eyesight in Volume 4, and we should add a weakness to light for youkai:

The entire area surrounding him had also been charred black due to the aftermath of the lightning strikes. Light was also a weakness of the Youkai, so that last blow should have been quite close to an instantaneous knockout.

Also, it was stated that fallen angels are weak to holy swords but this is from an early volume so I'm not sure if it's been retconned somewhere.

This last one could be more important than the rest. The effects of the dimensional gap was agreed to be Existence Erasure based on the description, but I now believe this could be wrong. Euclid mentioned that he got information about the Boosted Gear from a fraction of Ise's former body in the dimensional gap, which means it wasn't erased. That would mean Ishibumi doesn't intend for the dimensional gap to erase things like Power of Destruction, at least from what we know currently.

So I believe the resistance should be adjusted to Death Inducement instead as it's stated several times that the dimensional gap kills whatever enters it. Plus Ajuka implied that Ise's soul would have perished in the dimensional gap if not for Ddraig. The adjustment could make more sense seeing as Power of Destruction can work on people that can survive in the dimensional gap like Issei and Trihexa.

What do you guys think?
 
Who else thinks Yasaka will be the conduit for Nyuutron Beam Cannon against Erebus? I think the power will be on par with Pseudo DxD's Longinus Smasher lol.
