A case for a verse pages restoration

To begin, I made a mistake with restoring the MGQ verses page while not seeking more guidances and approvals so my sincere apologies about it; I will try my best so there won't be a mistake like this again. Well, this thread is about the proper explicit approval rather than implicit approval as I thought there were enough.

Due to the new guideline from Site Disclaimer that were accepted in the Discretion Template, I think an old deleted verse like Monster Girl Quest and its pages should be restored. I think the case for restoring the pages are valid because there are already H-games verses like Demonbane and adult verses like Berserk which were agreed as okay to be kept and our Site Disclaimer's change from the Discretion Template Thread's Conclusion.

So, I leave the case of validity with the staffs' support.

As long as the pages themselves are clean, I don't think there's any issue. Sexual Content shouldn't be something to be squirmed at. Lots of fictions have sexually explicit content and for some reason we tend to make a bigger deal out of it then scenes of grotesque violence. Makes us seen very puritanical.

Ultimately, I don't think what is and isn't allowed on the wikia should be dictated by one or another's moral standards of what constitutes as acceptable, or what one deems "disgusting" or anything. There's plenty of content on the wiki that I dislike and that I wish didn't exist but wanting to get rid of it because of that is silly.

Well, Monster Girl Quest is quite explicitly a **** game. But seeing as rules have changed, assuming the wiki won't get deleted for it, I see no problem with allowing Promestei to stay on the wiki.

Well, to correct myself, call it an "eroge series".

So what if it is a game with sexually explicit scenes? That doesn't mean it doesn't have things outside of that. Like a legitimately well developed world, plot, or cast of characters. Or gameplay, or a kickass soundtrack. For some reason the west is SOO touchy-feeling when it comes to depicting sex in media, whereas Japan has no problem with certain manga, novels and video games which tell serious and legitimate stories that just happen to have sex?

Is MGQ inherently more sexual than something like Fate/Stay Night, Dies Irae, Tsukihime, or any other +18 Visual Novel verse here on the wiki? Yes, it is. But there's nothing wrong with that. Our wiki has no problem with very explicit Ecchi Series like Highschool DxD or Highschool of the Dead. You'd also be surprised just how many Light Novel Anime Adaptations get severely toned down from the original series to tone down the pervy / sexual elements. It's just something that exists.

And there are series such as Berserk which have gruesome and horrific and explicit sexual scenes depicting rape, and that isn't a big deal. Or American Gods with the scene of a woman swallowing a man with her ******, which is explicitely described in page and shown on screen. Or Shin Megami Tensei with the concerningly high number of genital demons, or naked demons (Fun fact, such images are proudly depicted uncensored on the Megaten Wiki, which isn't +18 only, and never had problems with it). Or Bastard! which is literally about some jackass who wants to conquer the world and have a harem, and has **** chapters drawn by the original author. Or Ane Naru Mono which is has both a clean and a pornographic version of the story which are concurrently developed and updated with new chapters, and are both written and drawn by the same woman (Yes, woman).

I could go on for hours. But singling out Monster Girl Quest because it focuses on a subgenre that many find weird is silly. Yes a lot of people find the sort of content aluded by the very title of the series to be gross, or disturbing, or "degenerate", or whatever other buz word you may think of, but ultimately it's just a matter of what people are accostumed to (Most of everyone don't even bat their eyes at brother/sister incest anime right now because of how many times its been seen, and stuff like cat girls and fox girls are borderline mainstream).

TL;DR: Keep the pages themselves clean. If needed, add a disclaimer at the top of the Verse Page, and most of all make sure that the pages are accurate from a Vs Debating Standpoint. That's all that is required for it to be available from the wiki.

Just because they come from an eroge doesn't mean the sexual stuff needs to be mentioned on page. Hell, my favorite verse is The Elder Scrolls, and that includes a character who became immortal by consuming his own *****. Doesn't mean I'll talk about it at length in profiles.

I honestly commend you for coming here and saying on the record that one of your favorite verses has semem eating

Either way, if there's an actual difference between eroge and ****, I'm fine with featuring a verse as long as all the explicit stuff is kept off the profiles

Okay it's time. Yes FRA.

It's been proven times and times again that Wikia couldn't give less of a shit about this kind of stuff on their platform, as long as it's SFW. There is the MGQ Wiki , which is 10 times worse anything we could ever need, other Wikis like the Villains have pages on it and don't get me started on all the knock off VS Debating wikis which hosts these profiles. Even ACF have ones.

This silly decision is 100% on our part, we have no excuse from Wikia or the likes to refuse it. And we have no reasons to do so.

Hot take: profiles should be allowed if they follow those rules:

-Follow FANDOM'S guidelines and such aren't too NSFW (disallows stuff that would be 100% too lewd for the wiki, which isn't the case for all Eroge, as shown by Fate or, well, MGQ)

-Isn't too controversial (No religions)

-Is useable for VS Debating (Meaning no non-fiction or fanfictions)

Nothing else should matter.

I'm pretty sure it's legitimately **** at points, though in my opinion, that doesn't matter.

Haven't exactly done heavy research into the series.

May I ask, where does Fandom draw the line?

My only problem would be it being a double standard if it's actually ****, I too agree with not disallowing profiles for having sexual stuff in the original material that won't make its way into the profiles anyway

Monster Girl Quest is unironically an allegory for racism and xenophobia, and ultimately a story about how religious fanaticism enforced through the oppression of an institutionalized belief system only breeds fear, hatred, ignorance, and division; and in which our protagonists end such division and unite disparate peoples that had been separated for thousands of years through love, peace, and cooperation. And also by killing God herself.

If nothing else, MGQ has a unironically amazing soundtrack. Seriously.

It does have enough sex in it to be classified as ****, yes. That is an inevitable thing one must admit. But that doesn't diminish the fact that it is a legitimate fantasy series.

And the art is good.

But that part's kinda expected.

Ok but can we fix the Promestein profile and the Promestein person from fusing into one please?
After all, if Fandom ever forces us to get rid of the verse, we'll probably end up accidently deleting Prom from existence.

@Sir Ovens

Never.

Well we could just call it "Promestein (Monster Girl Quest)" or something but that'd be boring.

Ok but I'm sure we all know what some of these characters do in character right? Are we going to address vs matches with them and characters who are minors?

@Ovens In an actual VS match this won't come up. The verse has shown that actual serious fights are just, well, normal fights.

@Sir Ovens Obviously we just need to gather in secret and come up with a secret code to talk safely...by being secretive

As long as we're all aware of this I'm down. Can't wait to throw some characters at Kiara and Kama.

That's a bridge we cross when we get there's but in my opinion this should be perfectly fine. I accept the idea of bringing them back.
