Should we mention that we are the world's most popular power-scaling wiki?

Hello.

I know that I have asked this before, but should we mention in the first page that this is the world's most popular character statistics wiki?

I know that we have avoided doing so in the past in order to not offend the OBD, but things are starting to get a bit silly in this regard, as we currently literally have over a 100 times as many page views per month as they do according to SimilarWeb, and they still claim that they have the world's biggest power-scaling resource in their front page.

Currently our initial welcome text say this:

"The purpose of this wiki is to index the statistics of characters from a wide variety of different fictional franchises."

Should we modify it to something like the text below instead, to take a bit of pride in ourselves, or would it be perceived as pointless bragging?

"The purpose of this wiki is to index the statistics of characters from a wide variety of different fictional franchises. It is currently the most popular resource in the world in this regard."

The text is obviously just a suggestion, and open for modifications.

Eh, just off the top of my head I'd say no. Seems a bit pompous and like bragging.

I think that not doing it just to avoid offending OBD is a bit silly though.

Although if they already say it I feel like us saying it too could just give rise to some hostility. Just be the bigger man (literally here haha) and let them say it.

Okay. Noted.

I'm neutral, but we really are the most popular character combat statistics indexing resource.

I'd rather we don't. Statements like these just feel pointless to me.

I'd prefer "The number one versus wiki, the purpose of this wiki is to index the statistics of characters from a wide variety of different fictional franchises."

Well, I suppose that it was likely a bad idea then.

I don't really care about offending the OBD or not (Given that VSBW being more popular is pretty much objective) but I don't think that there is any point in writing "we are the most popular indexing wiki" in the front page.

It just feels like bragging, and I don't think that users that aren't part of the community would care about it

Yeah, if it is already self-evident that we are the most popular site on the internet in that genre, then there isn't much point in announcing it.

I mean the people who do vs debating or know about us, already know it. So there's no point.

But if we add something like that in our front page, I won't say it would be bragging if done so modestly. The truth is the truth after all.

Well, it seems like this was a bad idea that has already been strongly rejected. Should I close this thread?

Okay.
