Was mentioned on another thread, sounds like a fun matchup.

Vol 2-3 Neo, Speed is Equalized. Battle takes place in this forest on Remnant.

Ryo scales to someone unharmed by .73 Tons, Neo is baseline or 2 Tons.

ESP hard counters illusions. Mind's Eye would be overkill.

That said Neo still has a sizable AP advantage and arguably better skills, although that might not help with teleportation spamming, especially if Ryo TPs her into the air and starts juggling with punches a la Teru.

I think so.

Ryo scales to people who take no damage from .73 Tons so they'd probably be pretty close in terms of stats.
 
Really not sure if I'd put a person around the level of a person who stomped a 1.42 Ton character around the same level of AP as a guy who tanked around half that

Especially since 1.42 was really casual

Again Ryo and people he scales to has taken near-Building+ attacks to the face and didn't even move or change his expression. That's rather different from a feat being casual, or easily defeating an opponent. Heck Base Mob tanked .73 Tons while he was actively having his energy drained and refusing to fight, and Ryo laughs at people who can give him trouble.

At best the AP gap is 3x, which leaves Ryo perfectly capable of harming Neo.
 
I agree with Dargoo here. I am gonna go ahead and vote for Ryo. Character wise from what we have seen, he will engage in combat with people for a good amount of time, dodging and countering attacks with precog and teleportation. Eventually he resorts to BFR. I see the fight continuing on for a good amount of time before he goes for this, but eventually he BFRs and wins.

Neo certainly can win if she goes fast and hard, and she definitely has the skill advantage. She has until he goes for BFR to win, but I do not see her winning conclusively most times before he goes for BFR

Thus, I vote for Ryo, but I am sure someone is going to contest this
 
I remember the afterimages guy with physical illusions and some of those are harmful enough to the other espers. Yet Shimazaki oneshotted all of them and slammed him down.

I'm confident on saying he can keep up. Also precog and teleportation would probably allow him to dodge. Only thing Neo has going for her is aura but even then Shimazaki's ability and pressure points may work on her considering that even other espers couldn't defend against that.

I think he's also the strongest Claw member too next to the boss, even trumping Serizawa. So yeah BFR and tire Neo out. Gonna vote blind boi over mute minigirl.
 
In Volume 6 they may be physical but from Vol 2-3 the only proof for possibly being physical is Yang making actual contact with one of them (shattering it).
 
Ryo can sense Auras so he's be able to pick out the real Neo anyways.

I actually didn't say I thought that Ryo would win this; Neo still has some very solid advantages, although I'll count votes.

Namely skill and AP. Ryo's combat style is repetitive and can get caught on to rather quickly, and relies much on abusing the same abilities over and over again. Meanwhile Neo uses her broken abilities in tandem with some very good hand to hand and melee skills. Ryo is also pretty overconfident (although this doesn't stop him from going HAM with TP spam), while Neo don't tend to pull punches or gloat around much. It's just that Ryo counters her illusions with his ESP, otherwise I'd solidly give this to Neo.

Hmm... to adress those I feel like her broken abilities that would be relevant would be aura since even with her illusions thing they would work for the first moment. Even in the fight against everyone the defining reason why he started losing was because he took too many hits due to Teruki. Everyone else just kinda comboed but even then he recovered.

Even his repetitive style was only defeated now due to Teruki's inclusion, which we got the whole power copy thing being the reason why I think. I think the reason why he went so long with the whole team was because he had issues with them and wanted them to know their place? He beat up everyone else (even first meeting with Teruki) efficiently in a few hits.
 
It would be good, Mob vs RWBY is the new meta, time for Ritsu vs Blake, Sho vs Yang (Gay couple vs Lesbian couple) Mogami vs Salem (downgrade edition).
 
Blake would rip Ritsu a new one, lol.

Yang vs. Sho is super thematic, though.
 
Actually I see Yang beating out Sho, but that's for that thread.
