Beheaded vs Chelsea

How does her time manip work?
Vermillion Rod: When activated while Chelsea doesn't move time doesn't advance. If she moves it advances like normal and if she attacks time runs in reverse. The effects terminate after passing a set amount of time. In the game, Chelsea doesn't take damage from attacks while the item is in use.
Essentially SuperHOT if you've played that game, and it's activated/has a cooldown.

I see you two are debaters of culture as well.

I know Chelsea can fly, but someone said Headless deals with flying enemies all the time.

Also surprisingly, Beheaded is one of the few who has no trouble with her 20 revive? Maybe?

well yeah obviously I have to argue for Beheaded, obscure game character ain't gonna get no damn love anywhere else

So Time Manip is definitely the main thing that's an issue here but if it works like SUPERhot and has cooldown he should still be able to somewhat manage. That said...

1. Beheaded can deal with flying enemies. Bats and spirits and shit are everywhere, his turrets can just aim up and he's got bows.

2. Danmaku and tons of attacks are a terrible idea to use on a guy that regularly deals with danmaku and can unironically reflect projectiles of spiritual/physical/intangible nature back at their respective targets.

3. As mentioned before, Beheaded can just abuse the age-old strategy of just absolutely clusterfucking the battlefield with screen-covering ice/gravity/electricity attacks, fucktons of summons, and all the turrets you can get.

4. As per usual gotta point out that swords get turned into harmless gold coins and her bombs become reflected.

5. Not only all of that, but Beheaded can unironically just heal with a whole slew of items and becomes invulnerable to damage while in that state. AP gap being what it is, she won't be harming him while like that any time soon.

So basically you have "can sometimes slow down time to get better reactions but not all the time" vs "I cover the screen with bullshit"

My vote for Beheaded.

EDIT: should also note that Time Slow is a thing to a much lesser degree in Dead Cells, so his experience with the subject means he isn't just blindsided.

I vote Beheaded FRA. Although I recommend we do not close this thread at least until Dont Talk before we finish this

On a side note,

@Bambu

Opinions on this? You are a fan of dead cells, so I think you may enjoy

>I cover the screen with bullshit

Funniest damn thing I have read all day. Also, Bambu, is unironically your new favourite word?

I mean he's not wrong? Dead Cells just makes the later bosses harder. Guy really coulda gotten better clips, especially for Time Keeper. I've seen the boss get floored in under thirty seconds if you have the right gear- fuckton of turrets and bombs and bam he's just toasted.

He is. Don't expect yourself to beat every boss on your first charge through- it's a Roguelike. Expect to get killed a lot and then try, try, again.

Wishlisted the game. Might buy it soon. Only complaint is that danmaku in 2D platforms instead of 3D can end up being not as comparable to 3D sometimes. But yeah voting the headless one FRA.

Also you can never go wrong with no damage boss runs

Just finished Touhou Luna Nights so itching for another rogue metroidvania/rougelike platformer.

Yeah lol. I picked up the game cuz I heard it was good, realised it was a rogue like, and decided I would come back to it when I had more time to poor into it

need to make a sock account just so I can also have "Missus Eucalyptus"

just noticed this

no

defenestration is and always will be my favorite word of all time

unironically is good for selling a point on how kinda stupid it is but making sure you nail the point home that no it isn't a joke that's just how mafia works

The Beheaded: 6

Chelsea: 0

Incon: 0

I appreciate it. Hopefully we'll see a conclusion today so this can carry on.

BA, HE HAS 24 HOURS

Actually in reconsideration I'll retract my vote and wait for DontTalk, sorry.

I'll still wait for DT before posting the next round, within reason.

Beheaded - 6 (Overlord, Ricsi, Iapitus, Litentric, Bambu, Ciruno)

All good. I wouldn't want this to end without DT saying his piece much like it'd suck if one of these happened before I got to say anything.

hence my bothering Dargoo at all hours when a Beheaded match is upcoming, asking him to post my initial arguments

I pull back my vote. It's not fair if someone's repping a character and then there's an entire a debate without the rep. I still think Beheaded wins tho, but fair chance is fair.

Actually Chelsea's theme is Fairy Tale.

To some of Bumbu's points:

1. Wouldn't Chelsea's fire floor burn the turrets? Aside from dodging Chelsea has also some degree of defense, since fireballs + swords are constantly circling around her.

2. Reflection is bothersome, though Chelsea can spam projectiles that don't originate from her and hence probably aren't reflected straight back at her either.

3. Does he have in character showings of spamming all those things together?

1. Can just reflect away the fire

3. The litteral point of the game is to spam as much as you can since the bosses are defeated via chip damage

1. The fire isn't a projectile, though.

3. Long time since I seen the game, but I believe playing without turrets is actually also a possible strategy.

Aside from that is the question how I assume vermillion rod is used in turn. As an obligatory game item, without scripted or cutscene use, I always assumed only a moderate usage in the battles. However, a player could in principle abuse it way worse (time reversal and all).

The Beheaded deals with plenty of bosses who abuse Danmaku argueably more potent than Chelsea, to be honest.

Also they reflect stuff that explodes on contact which I believe includes fire. IDK how Chelsea's fire works though.

Bambu also mentioned something about them resisting/countering it in other ways if memory serves right.

And even then few have mentioned the > 3x AP advantage the Beheaded has, which doesn't account for various amplifications.

Fire seems to be implied more to be the area of effect hazard that could harm turrets. Hard to reflect a hazard that could take out your turrets.

If we are talking end-game Beheaded (For example, Hand of the king, alchemist and potentially the time keeper with the right synergies) then I feel that The Beheaded is entirely capable of dealing with Chelsea.

My vote goes to the beheaded.
