Entry Log #72456

It has been a long time since I made an entry, I know, I know, but now I think it's my time to strike! The darkness that overtakes our world has been in effect for decades now. I've been locked in this bunker ever since the first arrival, but now...I'm going to get my way out!

While going out there I was able to acquire a bit of DNA from the fallen out there, and with a bit of genetic splicing I have made the perfect soldiers for reclaiming our world! Well...perfect is a little bit of an exaggeration. They're hardly perfect, but they're certainly stronger than this withering old man. Haha!

I was unable to capture many of the stronger souls available to me, but I was able to catch a few. They might be weak right now, but with their current set of powers, I have no doubt that they'll pull through. I've even injected a bit into myself to give myself an extra edge. Hehe. Either way, today is the day I release the subjects. I don't know what will happen next, but this has been Dr. Albert Valentine, the last hope for humanity...signing off.

Transmission ended.

(Insert a character list here when I have the time because I can't do it right now also don't post until I do I got this.)

The scientist,Albert Valentine, rapper his fingers nervously against his computer. In front of him lay several bodies, all hooked up to machines. Bodies that he had made, bodies with personalities he had made. People...life. If he could go through with this he would have made life. A breakthrough in his time, though he just wished he had colleagues to partake in the celebration that was sure to come later. That bottle of wine likely aged well after fifty years in here...

"Alright, lets get this started," he muttered as he tapped a few keys on his keyboard, hooking some wires up to the bodies as well as a few needles filled with some weird black goop with colors seemingly randomly distributed among the goop. This was the essence, and it was slowly being pumped into these new forms.

Dr. Valentine let out a sight before typing up a few more commands at his computer. The needles pulled out of these husks of bodies and with one final command, thousands of colts of electricity were jolted into the bodies, to start up the artificial hearts. The worst thing that could happen now would be an overload of energy, but he was monitoring it to make sure that wouldn't happen.

Once the shocks ended, Dr. Valentine pulled out the wires and waited expectantly, staring intently at the bodies he had created. Please work...please work...

Gurman slowly gets to his feet, towering over his creator.

"..."

The Scientist probably forgot to give him vocal cords (or Gurman didn't figure out using them yet), because he only grunts in a ? sort of fashion.

He looks around at the bodies which are now slowly getting up, then looks to the scientist.

Darkness

The first sight I see, is Darkness. But somehow I know that this Darkness is...different.

As if it was watching me.

As if it was covering me.

As if it was... swallowing me.

...How strange, how curious. Still, something told me...

I open my eyes, and then rise up, watching my surrounding. In front of me is an old man, with some interesting world he is seeing.

I open my eyes, instantly assaulted by...................numbers?

why are there numbers everywhere?

i rub my eyes several times, initially convinced it's some kind of visual illusion. I guess not

I mutter incoherently under my breathe as i slowly stand up

Dr. Valentine was more than excited, to say the least. His eyes widened and he let out a loud laugh as he clapped his hands together. Yes! This was it! Even if not all of them have woken up yet, some have! This was undoubtably progress!

"You're alive, you're alive! Hahaha!" The doctor clapped to himself once more before smiling at his creations. "Hello, yes, I am your creator. My name is Dr. Albert Valentine. It's a pleasure to meet you all. The greatest pleasure!"

As the man moves, the numbers that nearly cover my vision begin to rapidly shift in tune to his movements

a few other numbers slowly climb, several more rapidly go up before dropping

this is wierd

Hm...the old man here is interesting. His world is filled with..."life", I supposed. A strange string, called D.N.A, a strange blob, called a fetus, a strange ambition, called lifeform...

The man beside me is interesting, too. While most of us is abit "empty", he instead is immediately filled with strange symbols...numbers, is it? The numbers keep going up and down, forming a beautiful wave of motion...

"A world of life, a world of numbers, and before that...a world of darkness. How strange...Nice to meet you too."

I then politely introduce myself

Something clicks in the back of my mind, subconsciously putting two and two together

age, cell count, cell division rate, air temperature, angular velocity.....everything.......i see it all

"I..........i'm not sure."

"You're...in my bunker, of course! Though where that is I actually don't remember..." the man let out a nervous chuckle before shrugging. "Anyways, would you all like to get acquainted now or would you rather I go straight into a story? The reason why I made you?"

"I...will keep watching, I supposed."

As I see more, I see that the world is covered in darkness. Through the "gap", all I see beyond is darkness, again.

"...Speaking of which, why is the world covered in darkness? I'm curious."

"Go ahead and go to the story i guess............."

Taking a look around the room, more and more numbers appearing

"The...the gap?" The doctor frowned as he stared intently at the one who spoke. "Explain that to me before I move on, please? I didn't check what the souls I gave you could do..."

''Gurman kinda stands there menacingly waiting for the story.''

I go to the old man and pat him on the back.

"Come on Doc, tell us your story first."

i say with a friendly tone to him

Jackythejack said:
"The...the gap?" The doctor frowned as he stared intently at the one who spoke. "Explain that to me before I move on, please? I didn't check what the souls I gave you could do..."
"Hm? You could hear me thinking? Or was I slipped up my mouth...I don't know, the soul you gave me just can see it, and what beyond."

I cocked my head to the side, in slight confusion.

"Alright, alright. Story time first." The doctor sighed, not used to having so many people in the bunker, or people at all, actually. It's been fifty years since he's talked to another person. The old man needed a refresher on social skills. She should've read those books on social interaction he had...

"About fifty years ago, there was a darkness that covered the world. It blocked out the sun and plunged us into darkness. After a month of this darkness, relying on our own light, creatures came from the darkness, taking the forms of...all kinds of things. These creatures would come at us and begin to either kill or capture us. Most of humanity was captured or killed in the course of a month. Few people were able to get into bunkers, and I was one of them. I was supposed to have a team of other scientists with me, but...that never happened."

The old man glanced to the ground and put his hands in his pockets. "I suppose that those creatures outside decided I wasn't worth the trouble. Ever since I was trapped here, I've been trying to make something...new. Something with the powers of those that came down to kill us. I killed a feeble of those things, and their essence, their soul, was available to me. I left them incubating for a while before creating you people, and then...well, here we are now. You have special souls inside of you, souls that will give you powers that I could only imagine."

"Heh....neat. Guess I'm not worthless after all." He said, shocked and impressed, looking at his own hands.

"Worthless?"

I then looked at the man, who just uttered that...His world is strangely gloomy, how fastinating.

"Why would you think yourself as worthless?" I ask, curiously

"Dude, you are so cool. Killing superpowered beings all on your own and such."

I say to the old man while continuing to pat him on the back

I look around the lab, now being caught up with his story, and I try to find something to use as a weapon... Maybe there's a spare metal pipe or hunk of wood that's long since been useless to him, but will get milage from me.

"I don't even KNOW why! Guess I have prof that I'm more of a laughstock than...." He lacked thought due to having a bit more of a complex thought process than Salad Fingers.

"Well, that was a long time ago. Some of the souls have been...waiting for a long time." The scientist chuckled. "Either way, uh, this is where you all come in. I'm too old to make any big contributions now, and...I feel like with a whole group of super powered individuals, you'll all be able to make a change out there!"
