Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
The question bugging us all today is whether vaporization can be considered for this calc:
User blog:Soldier Blue/Bleach - Some Cero calcs for fu
I asked for some colourized scans from the following chapters. KuuIchigo was kind enough to track them down for me.
Chad makes a crater:
Chad crater (Chapter 86)
^ OBD calc of this: Link
The author of this calc notes that there are signs of melting (and thus high temperatures) around the crater. So that's evidence for vaporization.
Chad makes another crater:
Chad crater (Chapter 108)
^ There are a couple of black marks in that crater. Scorch marks? And that vapour cloud looks like a damn fine indicator of vaporization.
Zangetsu's reiatsu is hot:
Zangetsu is hot (Chapter 111) (1)
Zangetsu is hot (Chapter 111) (2)
^ IMade knows some Japanese and I requested him for a Translation of the top two panels in the second scan here.
Kanji:

Translation:
Zangetsu....was it such a threatening sword..!?
The Reiatsu...it looks like it's burning/heating the atmosphere!!
It's not an apparition is it?! (This one was weird cause it has Ja ne in it which usually means "see you later")
An ordinary Zanpakuto looks like a stick...!

^ Yes, I did just lazily copy & paste his reply.
Renji's reiatsu is also hot:
Renji is so hot (Chapter 210)
^ On Renji releasing his limiter, his overflowing reiatsu actually vaporizes one of Yylfordt Granz's horns. Keep in mind that Renji's Zanpakuto and reiatsu are of the melee combat type. They are not flame based. And this isn't a one time thing. Look at what he did to Mask De Masculine with a directed energy attack:
Mask is cooked (Chapter 564)
Aizen absolutely did not want the top four Espada to release their Zanpakuto in his precious fortress. You can clearly see why:
Las Noches needs Cero insurance (Chapter 347)
^ So much vapour.
The premiums are going to be ridiculous (Chapter 352)
^ So much steam.
Right. Enough joking around.
Anyway, my point is that there is enough evidence to support very high temperatures being generated by even reiatsu that is not flame based.
I have stated in my blog on why I support pulverization. But I have also stated that there is actually evidence to support vaporization as well. I just want calc group member thoughts on this shit.
How will this affect the current power-scaling if accepted?
Not by much. This will just push some currently Mountain level+ characters to the lower end of Island level. That is actually a reasonable power jump. It is especially a reasonable power jump when you consider that the characters who would become Island level (if this is accepted) were stomping currently Mountain level+ characters. Hell, one of the former took on a collection of the latter and still casually handed their asses to them.
