Zenless Zone Zero Discussion Thread

Got another Miyabi so I probably won't be able to get Astra Yao or Evelyn unfortunately

That aside, the new update is gonna be crazy lol.

Loads of minigames and events added, new skins finally a thing, a new character was teased (Around 2:04 mark, next to the CH's), Fall Guy inspired game mode lol, and a lot of multi's we can pull if you're lucky on the gacha.



Also relevant too I wanted to post the other day but got swamped with other stuff.

ZZZ won Best GOTY, best visuals, and best audio.

For a game just only half a year out since debut, it's got quite the following and fandom of support, and I like that.

I was already hooked onto ZZZ ever since I dropped HI3 twice (mainly the grindset wasn't worth it the second time around, the first time way before I didn't go P2W either nor know what I was doing) and I didn't want to play GI and HSR either for how big those games are too. I'm glad ZZZ got through for me to play something I can do any amount of gameplay and grind on lol.

Though I could possibly add another game or two this year or next depending what they are. Specifically Ananta (FKA Proj. Mugen) and Neverness to Everness are possible. Maybe this other new game I could try out called Yang Yue. But then again my phone as it is probably wouldn't be able to handle anymore than two modern games so probably not xD
 
ZZZ and R1999 are the only games I've decided to devote myself to this year since I've gotten tired of live service. ZZZ has great enough combat, and I'd like to add space for more singleplayer games in my life although Ananta or any anime GTA-like could change my mind once again lol

It really depends. Ananta was on my radar for next phone game to get. Then NTE happened and it looks just as amazing, and so is Yang Yue for what little gameplay I saw and read about.

Ananta is good too for the Spiderman style combat but NTE got GTA style car gameplay lol. It’s so hard to choose for this year or next lol.

Though I read Ananta does have a license of approval now but it lasts one year so we’re likely to see it drop later this year and perhaps NTE for the gameplay snd presentation I’ve seen thus far from them to consider by then.

You'll be starving for Dennies so I'd suggest accumulating a stockpile now by purchasing from the shop as upgrading costs become steeper, this may include buying Dennies from other places like the Association Stockpile or the gacha shop.

I highly recommend focusing on a handful of characters. Lucy is the Bennett/Tingyun of this game, so don't neglect them when you pull them. Soukaku is also good to focus on for when you get an Ice DPS, and iirc she's free when you clear Shiyu Defense, the equivalent to the Spiral Abyss.

adding onto the dennies tip, don't waste your resources by upgrading every single character you get. made this mistake when i first started the game and i was starved on resources for a while. in the endgame, you'll only really have 2-3 teams that you need built up, so i'd recommend just focusing your resources on characters that you plan on using.

despite what tier lists might tell you every character in this game is usable and all of them can be viable end-game if you build them properly, so honestly i'd just play around with characters and see who you like most in terms of playstyle.

aside from that though, just enjoy the game. the story's really great, the characters are all endearing and entertaining, and it's a good time overall. now's a great time to get into it since the 1.5 update is coming very soon

What they said. I'm actually actively putting my resources into any character I have only to realize VERY late that I should just focus on the ones I will most likely use the most out of.

My add on advice is to look at what each character can do once you get them, see what skills and benefits they have, and really figure out from there on how much you want to invest in them.

This way, you can allocate more of your resources on your most used units and only if you have a bunch that you haven't used you can either saved it for more characters you may want and have great usage out of or perhaps your least used if you don't mind using those once in a while.

As said earlier, you should just enjoy the game as you learn how to play it. It's not too complicated, but not too simple either. Characters and cutscenes + Char talks are engaging, and the MC's you play (at least non gameplay wise cuz they can't fight...yet owo) actually are their own characters rather than some sort of semi self-insert type MC.

That's good the MC is their own characters. Hoyoverse bumping it out of the park since I really love the HSR Trailblazer Caelus/Stelle

yeah it's one thing i really appreciate about this game. not super huge on the "blank slate" MCs but wise and belle are not only distinct from one another, but they also both have their own unique personalities and have their own roles to play in the story. even the sibling you don't play as still has a lot of story significance which is very nice

(Real talk: I think I can get behind Astra x Wise, though that might be due to all the "he thinks they're just hanging out" jokes I saw in the video comments).

Finally got shark girl and her W-Engine, now to see how much of her MC I can unlock before she’s gone again. Fortunately ain’t too interested in obtaining Astra and Evelyn so I can focus on Ellen, wishing all ya’ll the best of luck in pulling for whoever you want.

Completed both Ellen’s Agent Story and the Special Episode, really enjoyed both.

As I expected, Ellen Joe story was focused on her friends finding out Ellen’s job so I wasn’t expecting anything crazy both story and feat wise. The most notable feat I believe is Ellen beating a Notorious (Mini boss tier) Armored Hati by herself with no notable issue.
 
Astra Yao has got to be the most Support to ever Support because playing her solo is unbearable
 
So where does ZZZ scale so far? Earlier in the thread, it was mentioned they capped out at tier 9, though I wonder if that changed since there's likely more story now
 
We just need speed feats, which I admittedly have been slacking on since I haven't been calcing them but we really just need these approved and we're good to go. The rest of the verse is at a solid 9-A with Miyabi likely being a High 8-C to 8-B

I've played through Astra Special Episode and it doesn't seem like much has changed, unless you got bizarre reasoning for Astra's voice technically lifting the stadium but otherwise, it still looks like a solid 9-A to me
 
Yeah, the best we got combat wise from the Special Episode I think was Astra and Eve beating a Terror Raptor, which is hyped in the intel as a veteran of countless battles and being New Eridu’s most trusted weapon of war. It should at least be way above wherever we’ll rate mechs like Guardians.

Unless I’m missing something, I think Astra and Eve currently got a more impressive feat than the PubSec faction… Even a faction of just a singer and her bodyguard got a more notable feat than a group of highly capable officers

I don't believe for one moment that Astra even came to blows with that thing in-lore because her entire gameplay shtick is being awful as a solo fighter

She doesn’t seem like a slouch in combat by herself in-lore given she’s entered a Hollow on her own and had no issue taking down a bunch of standard Ethereals despite being a support character.

While Eve engaged it directly, I’d see no issue with Astra damaging it with her ranged attacks.

Not gonna lie, when she mentioned the Marionettes while exploring the Hollow, I had a thought “is gonna fight a Marionette?”. While I’m glad that didn’t happen, I also find the thought of her holding her own against an Ethereal which troubled Victoria Housekeeping by herself to be funny.

Pulchra coming to the game was kind of an open secret at this point (though I hope this means we get Bellum at some point: I wanna play as an orangutan), but S-Rank Anby definitely caught me by surprise. Looks like Obol Squad's finally gonna become story-relevant just in time for the new arc...

Anby, I didn't think at all would have an alt let alone the first lol. That just means we'll be exploring Anby's past prior to joining the Hares, which means it's a matter of time when Billy's own past will be fully uncovered and we get an S rank Billy owo.

Pulchra being a new unit isn't surprising, neither was her joining the SoC since they're the only other major faction (Playable or NPC otherwise) that she's interacted with. Her being A rank was a surprise too with how popular she is, but I'm just as happy for that moreso that we needed a new A rank in the game since Seth was added xD.

There WAS someone working on a verse page, but they didn't do anything with it.

I actually said this a while back that if nothing happens, I'll make one. I've just been really all over the place IRL and other stuff to really get around to even just that.
