Cool I just read that whole thing. I'd like to note that TOAA is the creator of all that is, but this actually doesn't include Oblivion, and the statement that the Beyonder is stronger than Oblivion also doesn't really hold up, as the former is "The strongest being in existence", which again doesn't include Oblivion.

"Omnipotence" is horseshit for a number of reasons:

1. Simply being "beyond everything" is highly dependent on a verse's complexity. What I mean is, omnipotence is frequently used in many verses to refer to vastly different things within different sizes, similarly to omnipresence and omniscience. Thus, simply giving one character an advantage over another based on such an arbitrary term is foolish. It's like if I claimed that some character knows absolutely everything that has happened, is happening, and will happen in every verse because "they're omniscient".
2. Omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence are generally considered to be theological concepts. While the other two are used liberally, omnipotence is too controversial and inspires theological debates (like what happened earlier on in this thread), and that is not what any tiering system should be doing.
3. Other characters have claimed themselves to be omnipotent, such as Super Buu from Dragon Ball. And don't give me that BS about "they have shown limits to their power". The fact of the matter is that they made those claims. Whether or not they are true is irrelevant.
4. Many people seem to forget that there are multiple definitions of omnipotence. The one that is typically used in VS debating is known as "illogical omnipotence". But there is also "logical omnipotence", which posits that not even God can violate logical consistency. I linked to a page on VS Battles up above, it goes into detail about the historical nuances of omnipotence.

TL;DR: Instead of giving certain characters inflated ratings simply because of something that is effectively a title, we should gauge their "attack potency" based off of their displayed scope of influence, and try to stay away from arbitration as much as possible.
