Xenogears/Xenoblade Discussion Thread

Yeah, Shulk was a vessel of Zanza, and was technically undead since he was 4. That might give Shulk resistance to mind manipulation and possession. As well as Immortality type 7 (Undead) and I don't think he would have a soul given that Zanza was his soul most of his life. And Shulk in his final key should be able to kill Non-Coperals. Reality Warping should also be left specific to his Final Key as well.

Yeah, that's probably outdated; I agree with either removing that key or replacing it with at least High 8-C.

Well so far, I have gotten to where Shulk has reached moon level in the story. So I might as well get some things that I found in the game as a way to possibly upgrade the characters.

Shulk:

Pretty much everything in his profile that is there before we added the ether gems stuff should be rewritten to be more concise and cleaner.

Forcefield Creation: via Monado Shield

Statistics Amplification: via monado armour, speed, and shadow eye

Statistics Reduction: via Monado eater, slit edge, and air slash

Air Manipulation: via monado Cyclone

Power Nullification and Paralysis Inducement: via Monado purge. The paralysis comes from when Alvis used the ability on a telethia spawn, and Shulk used the same thing on an actual telethian that it paralyzed them for as long as they needed to.

Sharla:

One Hit Kill: via Headshot

I also don't see why she has "bad at close combat" as part of her weakness when she was able to fight off some mechons at close range.

Dunban:

So his list of stuff, like "expert soldier" and "good at taunting" I believe should have a little clean up, as some of that can be added to his intelligence section rather than his abilities.

Melia:

Homing Attack: due to her summoned elements being capable of locking onto targets when fired.

Statistics Amplification: via the numerous summoned elements having the ability to increase certain stats when used.

Riki:

Attack Reflection: via his "Riki is angry" skill.

Fiora:

Forcefield Creation: via her drones able to replicate Shulk's Monado Shield ability.

Power Mimicry: via the previous statement I mentioned.

Statistics Amplification: via her numerous star amping skills.

Metal Face:

Paralysis Inducement: via this.

Telethia:

Mind reading: via this.

Regenerationn (Low Mid): via this.

Absorption: via this.

Also I forgot to add attack reflection for all the other party members due to them being able to use spike damage with the ether gems.

Those abilities look good so far; and Sharla's weakness is probably just a game mechanic, so we should remove that yes. Also, I think Dunban might have limited resistance to body control or madness manipulation? He's the only one besides Shulk who could sort of wield the Monado I, but his right arm eventually became paralyzed in the process. Not to mention Shulk also having other abilities and which some are separated by keys.

I agree with the abilities, also there are some little things missing for The Architect/Zanza.

Yeah, going off from what Zanza has said when Shulk met him, he could potentially scale to having the Monado abilities before.

Ahh, alright. Well once I get done for the day, I'll see if I can't add these things to their profiles. Someone else can get Shulk's profile.

I'm not sure if attacking characters with Elemental Intangibility grants non-physical interaction. Someone tried to give Saitama that via splashing water around, though, cloud might be slightly different. I'm not sure if Aqua Nebula's are ghosts/spirits though. And I agree that Zanza does need an Architect image, as well as other abilities.

alright, I added the abilities on the more recent list to the profiles with the obvious exception of shulk. I'd like some more input on whether we should add Non-Physical interaction to their profiles via the nebula.

I'm not even gonna do that fight. I don't care that much about challenge mode lol. I just want Elma blade (And swimsuits) to come back to Alrest with me.

I haven't gotten too far in the Challenge mode, ATM, I'm trying to do Torna the Golden Country DLC Chapter. But, this guide might help. Dark Combos and having a good healer seems to help.

I can't tell because I haven't had an in-depth look at the game and Malos' feats in it, but does this include information from the Torna DLC?

Malos can seemingly teleport and does it quite a lot, he has his own Siren which is probably equal to Mythra's, he seems to have resist Haze's blade nullification powers, and has an army of Gargoyle Artifices which he said each has Aether energy that rivals even the largest Titan, and probably some more stuff I missed considering this is just what I gathered from just watching the cutscenes. Also can't believe I forgot this, but Malos, and probably Mythra, contains all the data of all Blades and Titans in their Core. Also, Mythra controlled Ophion, and all the Titan destroying was done by the Artifices (mostly Siren) and seemed very casual from my (possibly wrong) perspective.

I haven't gotten too far into the Golden Country DLC quite yet, but I did see the ending cutscene. Looking at this, the Continent level feat is most definitely legit. Mythra using Artifice Siren and Malos with his unnamed Artifice were trading blows, and even Malos's laser was splitting a continent, and the final clashed they performed cause an omnidirectional blast that destroyed titans; including Torna, Coiea, and most of Temperia, which used to be much larger.

Though, I'm sure more abilities could be found throughout the game.

I might be wrong but some of the tiers for Nia, Morag, and other, come from scaling to Mythra and Malos, but it seemed this was based on the assumption that the Titan destroying was from them and not their Artfices because I don't think theirs any feats of Nia, Morag, etc. fighting against something that scales to the Artifices, besides possibly Aeon, though like said I could be wrong.

None of those characters are overwhelmingly weaker than Artifice Ophion or Siren though; in fact, Artifice Ophion is still an optional boss in the game. Plus the feat in question was like extremely casual anyway. Though, I should note that Jin is no where near as OP in Torna as he is in the main game; but he is far stronger and faster than Malos or Mythra in the main game. Amalthus has also been shown to control titans.

Honestly I didn't want to discuss this because I'm not that knowledgeable about this stuff, but I'm pretty sure they never fight against Amalthus' Titans. Ophion is an optional Superboss who they fight after beating Aion who should be stronger than it, so the Ophion fight canonicity is questionable. I'm pretty sure they don't fight Siren or anything equal to it, and it wouldn't be a leap in logic to assume that Mythra holds it power back when she uses it in battle to not harm the party members or the Titan their on. Jin doesn't seem to have Titan busting strength himself only being really fast.

Honestly most of the reasons for their continent level stats come from fighting against Mythra/Malos, or scaling to people who fight them, when their not in their Artfices, while the Torna DLC seems to show that all their continent destroying powers come from the Artifices.
