Wright or wrong

Was playing though umineko and relised that Willard H. Wright shares the same surname as Phoeix Wright and they both act as the prosceution and defence in court respectivly so thought it would be interesting to see who would emerge victorious in a murder trial which is balanced for both sides with them each taking their own roles. Bonus round, they have their roles reversed.

Rules.

1. No fighting.

2. No magic.

3. Both sides know of all evidence before the trial.

It heavily depends if the defendant is actually the culprit or not. Prosecutor: Willard Defense Attorney: Phoenix. Willard would prosecute the actual culprit regardless, so Phoenix has a heavy disadvantage. The power of bluffing will keep him fighting during a long time, but in the and he can't escape the truth (which Willard is really good discovering), so in the end: Guilty, Willard wins.

If Phoenix has a guilty client. He never would defend them. And wouldn't take the case. which is a highly unfair and unrealistic situation to put him in. So that's not gonna happen. He has even turned down a client because they lied to him and he felt he couldn't trust them. So there is no actual realistic way that isn't setting it up that Phoenix would end up with a guilty client he is defending.

And making the client not guilty also sets it against Willard. Cause then he isn't pointing out the real killer. Which is what he would want to do realistically. So he wouldn't accuse an innocent person. With Phoenix behind the defense stand. No doubt both would come together and figure out who the real killer is.

It ends up with them both pointing out the real killer. So Willard wouldn't lose cause the real killer is found. But Phoenix wouldn't either, cause his client is innocent. They both win. Cause they both seek the truth. And both being so good at finding the truth. They probably do what Miles and Phoenix does. Work together to find the culprit.

So Inconclusive. There is no proper way it could go down with a winner without setting it up in a highly unrealistic situation.
