Okay. I might not remember everything 100% from last night but apparently there's some kind of legend behind Ho-Oh different than usual called "Legend of the rainbow Hero". When Ho-Oh leaves a feather behind during its travels it leaves it for someone it particularly likes (in this case Ash) and the rainbow feather is able to lead that Hero to a mountain where Ho-Oh will come to them after placing the feather onto the rainbow stone. And Marshadow has a role here that makes it somewhat of an overseer. However, when the feather is held by someone with an evil heart, it looses its color and a great dark power is awakened (from how I saw it from last night though). Wont say who, but the feather does get touched by someone evil and massive dark energy gets unleashed. Using this power, Marshadow starts mind controlling a bunch of pokemon (even dark types like Lycanroc) to make a mini army and attack everyone.
