Transmutation immunity.

It is a special ability of this version of his tanuki form, to turn temporarily into stone as protection against attacks, I think.

Mario is using the regular tanooki suit that just gives you flight. The Koops are turning him into to stone.

It's just a temporary effect in all likelihood, not resistance

The fact that Mario go transformed in the first place means he can't have an "immunity."

In the game while the effects are temporary, by pressing up you can make yourself go back to normal a lot quicker than you would naturally. However I think that'd just be considered a game mechanic/not worth mentioning.

What about Mario and Luigi paper jam? The final boss turns all three of them into paper sheets but they can still control themselves and avoid enemy attacks.

It looked to me like he shed a stone skin or something. Perhaps he was more akin to being dumped with concrete instead of being transmuted into stone.

That's just me though. I have no knowledge of Mario other than he's italian and high as...

I'm not sure about anything that happened in Paper Jam. I haven't played that game yet.

How long has it been out? They didn't like people posting spoilers for DBS a while back since it was airing, but if it's out for like a week or so (longer since it's a game), it's fine.

Oh, and that since it's Mario, I don't think there's any story that can be spoiled.

Since the question has been answered, I will close this thread.
