what happens if a character cant beat a lower character on the list but can beat a character higher on the list

Pretty sure u have to beat everyone below the spot u want. Aka, even if they beat a character higher on the list, if they can't beat the lower characters, then they don't get the spot.

But if character A cant interact with character B, but Character C can interact with Character B and beat him, but Character A can interact and beat character C, how does that turn out?

Character B would be removed from the list, sponges and stone walls are explicitly not allowed on these lists. It's the "strongest" not the most hardest to kill or interact with.

Depends, on quite a few factors, I'd say.
If it ends in a defeat or an incon, what exactly is the reason of this outcome, if speed was equal or unequal in any of these match ups, etc.

Stone walls get removed.
If the reason the higher character can be beaten is only due to a favourable matchup, and the character would be beaten by many lower-ranked characters than the higher ranked character can, chances are they would still end up ranked lower. (At least that's what I heard in the past)
If neither applied, chances are several characters may end up sharing a spot, i think.
