A return of the legendary matchup between man and light-energy dragon who prefers throwing punches instead of flying. Both Mac and Kiragon have gone through a number of revisions since that right, so why not just remake it new? Which of these brawlers who don't fancy the air will walk out of the ring champion tonight?

Little Mac VS Kiragon, 9-C keys for both (Punch-Out!! 1987 Mac and base Kiragon), Speed is Equalized, and the fight takes place in a boxing ring with the fighters starting in opposing corners.

The Punch Is Mightier Than The Dragon: 0

The Wings Are For Show: 0

Punch-Out and PAD Revisions Happen Again: 0

little mac has insane reflexes, and he has faced a person with magic before, gotta give it to little mac

So, I think how skilled Kira is dictates how decisive this match is. And maybe how those forcefields work.

Kira has energy Manip and probably a higher AP (iirc this key of Mac’s baseline) though I’m not sure how much cause I can’t find where he scales rn. Thankfully, his Accelerated Development doesn’t seem to be combat applicable in this case, and Mac’s used to fighting against tougher foes through the tried and true method of dodge and counterpunch.

If Kira‘s stupidly skilled though, I can’t see him taking it.

Kiragon scales to generic swordfghters wearing armor, so baseline too. It gets an unquantified AP boost while Soul of Light is active (Mac has no options to power null, so it's always active), can boost AP even more with Orb Comboing. And Flash Punch has a 5x multiplier, but it only applies to that attack. So Kiragon is somewhat above baseline with two Damage Boost options.

The Forcefields trigger with the Heart Orbs, Kiragon can use them to heal itself or make walls to block incoming attacks.

Yeah Accelerated Development requires Kiragon to win fights, so useless in a 1v1.

Skill is strange for them, PAD mooks are competent fighters that require an entire policing force to keep in check to keep people safe, but most of them don't have much beyond that to stand out. Human-like intelligence and enough skill to be 'competent'.

Also Mac's skill against magic was basically just Great Tiger, right? This is classic Mac so it was only him reacting to illusions, that's not super comparable to energy blasts, healing, damage boosting, and Forcefields...

Also, to note, professional boxers have sone real world records to put them above baseline. However, we don't seem to ever list those, so I don't know how we treat real world values compared to someone like Little Mac.

Also ALSO, it's not listed on the profile and needs to be, but Kiragon is comparable to other base form starter dragons and slimes in size. Monsters like that tend to not even come to knee height of children.

So Mac's in a pretty humorous situation here, he's not punching up, but punching down for once. And by a pretty hefty size difference, his typical fighting style never had to account for this before. That will likely hamper him.
