The Revenant Marvel Comics Discussion Thread

I know we can't use databooks for statistics, but is it fine to use them for stuff like population size?

Probably, yes, in lack of better options.

I think that the second approach is much more appropriate, yes.

What did Jason and the others do to make them job and impossible to scale. (With great power comes great irresponsibility)

give examples please thanks
Well, my memory is vague at this point beyond recalling that he did it a lot back when I read his stories several years ago, but for example he let Jane Foster have as much problems with the Silver Samurai as with Odin, and let regular superheroes efficiently fight Celestials.

Regular superheroes, 🤦

the only regular superheroes I know of that can have a chance against celestials are reed (only with preptime), Sue (Only because her powers are sort of like celestial kryptonite), and doom (with prep)

seriously it’s either with prep or your powers are basically anti-celestial kryptonite. (I remember sue could hurt a celestial because her powers are basically krytponite to them) everyone else because of prep.

He wrote a story where Thor, She-Hulk, Iron Man, and Ghost Rider could fight them on roughly even footing. Thor and She-Hulk were physically larger than normal, but even so.

Tbf, she didn't struggle quite as much as against Odin, and she still soundly defeated Silver Samurai (unlike Odin, in which the fight ended in an inconclusive stalemate). Also, part of the reason she struggled might be due to her using lightning to charge up his armour.

But in the end, the Silver Samurai fight wasn't on the same scale as the Odin fight, which clearly depicted them as relative equals (as stupid as that is) with big feats like manipulating Jupiter's larger-than-Earth storm and bouncing across multiple moons, while Silver Samurai was a regular bad guy who made Jane struggle for a short while before she defeated him rather easily

Iron man had super armor so I don't think it counts

She-hulk and Thor had a mega amp from a magical item related to Ymir

Ghost Rider is Ghost Rider

Ymir should be nowhere near as powerful as a Celestial, much less a tiny vial of his blood. It simply made Thor and She-Hulk larger, and Iron Man used a large armor. That's pretty much it.

Celestials are THE most inconsistent characters in fiction. Sometimes they can stomp odin, fight galactus etc and sometimes they get fodderized by thor with axe amped by his own blood. Hell, he killed exitar with full power. Ymir is on odin level, he even fought surtur 1v1 as well. I think ymir could be on their level.
