The Azure Striker vs The Adept Slayer

Okay, well first off can GV use his upgraded versions of Skills? ( Luxcaliber Launcher, Astrasphere Mandela, Voltic Chains Thunder)

Y'know what I'm going to assume that he can. This is a very close and fun matchup to breakdown

First off we need to find out the means of how each can bypass Prevasion. We'll start with Copen. His only means of truly bypassing Prevasion is Greed Snatcher (Magnetic Bullets), Shred Storm, and Hydro Zapper (auto Overheating). All of GV's offensive Skills including Dragonsphere/Crashbolt immediately cause overheat. Both have means of causing Overheat, but Copen's options are much less limited and more reliable than GV's which give him an advantage

We should note that Copen in battle is very stubborn and can't really fight with a super proper strategy compared to GV. He also cannot damage GV much without tagging him up close first. Unfortunately for him, Copen's close range game is trumped by GV's range game and very powerful close range skills, example being Astrasphere. And GV's strength feats and powerful attacks are significantly stronger that Copen's. So offensive battle tactics and strategies go to Gunvolt.

Now we can move on to X Factors: their Skills. Copen's skill cooldown is much more reliable than GV's 3 SP points. Each of GV's points take one minute to charge, while Copen can use a very reliable skill in about a minute 30 seconds. However, in the skills themselves, GV's sheer versatility completely trumps Copen's. Copen's Full Healing will get in the way from GV's victory a lot, but GV's own healing and stat buffs will eventually beat down on Copen. Plus GV can use Septimal Surge for free now.

The battle will last long, but eventually GV will win out because of him just spamming the living daylights out of his Overheating Skills and use other ones to buff his defense or heal himself, while Copen has to struggle to get close to him and bypass all of his offensive skills after getting in a Hydro Zapper and occasional Shred Storm

Sorry for the necro, but everything in the game subtly points that GV was the one that beated Zonda.

>He was the one singing, unlike Copen in the alternate version when you play as him

>Copen wanting to suddendly kill GV more than ever just for the Muse stuff seems too forced

>Copen clearly wanting to kill GV as it´s clearly assumable that GV killed his sister in that scenario is pretty consistent

but both are capable of doing those feats, in this case it doesn't matter what is canon because the gameplay showed that Copen is able to defeat Zonda

OH WAIT

Three months prep time? this definitely turns the tide to help out Copen, I'm not sure if it'll change my opinion, but Copen can definitely make dozens of tools specifically to defeat Gunvolt that involve Greed Snatcher

Okay, I can admit that they are equal in physical stats.

In that case, Copen, he has more hax variety than GV and far more mobility.

But then again the only haxes that matter are the ones that can get by Prevasion, so that eliminates a large majority of his arsenal until GV is overheated and at that point his haxes arent as effective as the one hax that got rid of Prevasion: Greed Snatcher or Hydro Zapper

Literally every single attack GV has goes through Prevasion except his darts, meanwhile Copen only has two, both of which GV has dealt with before (Asimov's Usage of Greed Snatcher and Milas's Hydro Zapper)

I´m going to say that the boss fight at the end of the seond game is a pain with Gunvolt, as his main way to do damage is with his flashfield, which leaves him vulnerable, and that´s not even taking into account how Copen´s bullets ignore his intangibility.

Meanwhile, while playing as Copen in here it´s a cakewalk, just spam water onto GV and Bullit Dash onto him a lot.

Yeah, Copen has the advantage by a decent degee if you ask me.

But literally GV can just spam SP attacks because in Anthem he has infinite use of Prevasion-nulling stuff, so getting through Prevasion is literally the easiest thing in the world for him. Yeah Copen can use Hydro Zapper, but that was only effective because GV was slow AF in that fight. The boss battle shouldn't be a factor since it's an Anthem vs Non-Anthem as well as the limits placed on each character by the game designers

Like in the GV Boss fight Gunvolt is so easy to hit so if he dodges it like an actual person like he does with the crazy angles of Orochi Greed Snatcher, he can dodge this too. And Copen needs to get a Bullit Dash in the first place to even gain that homing property, which is Prevaded. His only change is to get a untagged Hydro Zapper or Greed Snatcher, and considering that GV can dodge Asimov's variation of Greed Snatcher, it should be easy. Keep in mind that GV has more experience than Copen ever had as well, QUILL missions and ASG1 are substantial proof while Copen is just a scientist

That argument doesn't really count since he did it again in GV2 and GV did that too. Copen's only chance is to make an AntiGV device which would either be too big to transport to the Garden or not even work since all he really has to work with is Carrera's and Milas's Septima. Even if he manages to overheat GV, GV can legit use Split Second, Septimal Shield, or a Galvanic to minimize the consequences. Yes Copen can do that too with his full heal, but he only can use that once before waiting for a long recharge period
